Thought they'd replaced a minutes silence with the applause. It would seem more appropriate when you have these idiots not being silent. I much prefer it, more uplifting in a celebratory way than the depressing they're dead way. How many funerals have you been to & afterwards had a laugh at remembering the person in their prime?
