Here's an extensive match report of Egypt's 1-2 loss to Chile on @King_Fut: http://www.kingfut.com/2013/02/06/ft-chile-2-1-egypt/ Includes videos of goals & missed chances - one by Gedo but he did pretty well overall. Fathi was solid.
Thanks for the info. Sounds like your team were tiring at the end due to lack of competitive games over the last year (league cancellation etc). Is this likely, in your opinion, to hamper Gedo & Fathi in their quest to come up to speed in the Tiger's team, and what impact might our cold weather have on their performances ? Thanks,
I reckon after a month or so in our team these two will be at their best and once they are we'll be unstoppable in this league. The only problem is keeping the wins coming in the meantime.
Where was Fathi for their 2 goals? I know the ball never fell to his man, but he just left his man unmarked in the box while he leisurely strolled around outside the box, could have easily been pulled across the box for a tap in. Not the most impressive defending I've ever seen. From that short clip of Gedo, he looks fast and strong. Can you find any highlights with Gedo's teamp play Apthh? Ie his passing ability and off the ball movement etc.
Were you even watching the game???. Fathi had been subbed several minutes before Chile scored their second. Chile's first goal was a shot from the right side of the penalty area after their RW had beaten Brighton's El-Abd for about the tenth time in the game (I hope he's as bad when we play them on Saturday...Elmo should have a field day. Thus neither goal had anything to do with Fathi...who was playing wide RWB wearing the #7 shirt rather than his usual #24 and made several great runs getting forward. He was probably their best player.
Might be a bit harsh there TBM - the other thread suggests Fahti wasn't on the park for Chile's second goal - but I didn't see the stream, so can't verify. Could be match fitness was a problem too ?
@tigerscanada, Gedo & Fathi among the most match fit of the lot. Ahly played the most domestically this year - CAF CL, CWC etc. so it shouldn't be too long before they're both 100% fit. Fathi was substituted after the 1st goal, Gedo as well. Bradley didn't want to risk them before their move to Hull. "From that short clip of Gedo, he looks fast and strong. Can you find any highlights with Gedo's teamp play Apthh? Ie his passing ability and off the ball movement etc." Hope to add more highlights tomorrow. He was heavily involved in the buildup to Egypt's first missed chance (video for that already linked).
Apthh - thanks again. Hope you'll get as much quality information from the UK when your lads are playing over here as we get from you. Cheers
Fathi was def not at fault for the first goal. As was said they scored from the other side of the field.
Thanks for all the great info on our two new Egyptian loanees. I really believe Fathi in particular will make a huge contribution to our promotion push and hope Gedo can score a few goals for us. Great to see so many Egyptians now following Hull City. I hope the partnership between our two clubs will become stronger and bring benefits to both of us.
Nice to see Liam Rosenior get the consolation goal. Was Gedo Egypt's number 8? I'm afraid I can't understand Clive Tyldsley when he's talking foreign. Thanks.
Did you read my post? I know neither goal was his faut, and didn't know he was subbed for the second. But watch the first again, there is a man, completely unmarked in the box (I'm guessing fathis man, he's in the space the right back would usually occupy) while fathi just casually larks about outside the box watching play. Surely he should be running back to mark him not gawping?
Gedo did well to make that chance in the first place. Very tough angle to score from, escpecially with the keeper rushing out. Looks strong and fast. Good stuff.
don't know how to add pics but this is the first pics of Gedo and Fathi in the club please log in to view this image please log in to view this image
