Chelsea have decided to finally offer him a new contract.

Amazing how a couple of months ago they found him surplus to requirements, but now they've finally realised they need him?

Indeed. Chelsea are almost as big a joke (off the pitch) as Blackburn Rovers and Nottingham Forest.

IMO, Lampard is the best midfield player England have after Gerrard and Wilshere.!!!

Both club and country cannot do with OUT Lampards services.

If I was Lampard I walk away. I'm sure a top European club will pick him up.

He'll sign, he wants the goals record, don't think money or how he has been treated by Abramovich and his chain of command will come into it. They already pissed off the fans with the Di Matteo sacking and Benitez appointment so they will make sure he signs in any case.

But isnt that just it? If I was him I wouldnt want to be their PR tool to bridge a gap with fans. Theyve had 18 months to offer him a new deal and made it quite clear they had no intention of doing so until things got a little tetchy between the board and fans. Also, he doesnt know who the manager will be as it almost certainly wont be Rafa. I wouldnt be that keen to sign my last contract in those circumstances, Id want to know I'll be playing and who my boss will be.

I reckon it'll be Capello anyway.

I also suppose it all depends on his private life too, who is he strumping now?

If he stays here, he should be nailed on to be the next to 100 caps and it would be well deserved. Must be one of the best out and out midfield goal scorers of the modern era.

Arf. Isnt it funny how he's suddenley flavour of the month when a couple of years back he was the player fans loved to hate and the majority demanded he be dropped cos "him and Gerrard cant play together"?

    Football eh?

I prefer Lampard as a footballer, but Gerrard as a leader.

I wouldn't want to be their p.r. tool either to be fair. Will be interesting to see if he signs. Maybe he is rich enough not to be that principled. Not sure how many goals he needs for the record but theres a lot of hype about it, it might mean something to him.

Lampard wants to stay @ Chelsea. He has said so in many interviews. He is letting his football do all the talking and the fans and media doing the ""Chelsea must be mad to let him go for nothing routines"". The state Chelsea are in they cannot afford to let him go. imo.

It's actually Christine Bleakley and it's a long while since she was on The One Show.

Leaving was probably a good move too, it's a dreadful programme.
