    Agreed, total madness.

Blame has to lie with West Brom for letting it get out of hand. Someone should be sacked for this.

The chairman over played his hand, trying to get much more than he's worth then trying to hold us to ransom over Hoillet. Not just players that are greedy!

I would say it was a case of cutting of their nose to spite your face.

It was simple really. We had a value for him, you had another value for him. The offer didn't meet our value so you didn't get him and also nothing had been agreed. The goalposts were not moved, nothing was agreed in the first place only in Pete's agent's mind. Pete even said in the interview from sky with his window wound down (looks and sounds familiar) that he was trying to force the issue. I personally am pleased that the club stood firm on this one. Firstly it would have set a precedent for anyone that wants a move to act in an unprofessional way and that goes at all clubs, secondly to have done a deal so late on would have left us short. He now has two options, play for the club and showcase his abilities so that he gets the move he wants in the summer or sulk and go and play in the championship. Whilst we don't have the resources that your club has, a couple of million pound loss in the great scheme of things is no real loss, bearing in mind the money coming in from Sky next season, plus we would not have been able to get a striker of Pete's ability with what you were prepared to pay for him and with the saving from his salary. The fact that your club were not prepared to help out with a loan for Hoilett to season's end just shows that Odemwingie was not essential to your plans anyway - it was most probably a "nice to have"..

Get your facts right Baggiebird. The deal was nearly set Odemwinghe was allowed to go to London (his mistake was to turn up at the ground, compounded by a bib big booby in giving an interview)...the deal was still ongoing...till Junior Hoillet, refused to make weight and go to Baggies (NOT "your club were not prepared to help out with a loan for Hoilett")..Then the deal collapsed. Hoillet perfers to stay with us and fight...that says something doesn't it!
From my understanding..it was WBA who got greedier and greedier, thinking that we would pay anything...well we didn't and WBA have egg on their face.
I think WBA have treated Odemwinghe badly...simply to disguise the fact that they (WBA) were pillocks in this

Slight contradiction, PO moving to us late in the window leaves you short yet going to Palarse on loan doesn't??

As an 18 year old, working on a Norwegian geophysical survey ship, as we made it into Oporto for a ship's crew change, there was a young blond long haired Norwegian Adonis waiting at dockside to board, and I recall one of my scientific colleagues remarking, "guess who's going to be in the barrel tonight"!

The guy's attitude is a bit dodgy (this isn't the first time he's fallen out with WBA heirarchy) - you may have ended up with another Bosingwa or Cisse
