Walnutt playing well but he always looks a bit stumped when presented with a range of passing options

England moving forward under Hodgson. The national pride seem to have been resurected. Hart, Wilshere and Rooney is a good spine and with the **** Terry out of the picture the future looks bright.

...and I have put some hard earned dosh on you guys tonight, looking good :)

Excellent half from England. Great to see them mix it with the best. Wilshire superb. 2nd half will inevitably see lots of changes, so really good to see them do so well in the 1st. All this talk that England are crap is just that.....crap talk!

He could have had a couple of goals in a minute. England defence looked like ours before we smartened up.

I see Nigeria beat Mali 4-1 so Samba Diakite coming home soon (he was on the bench but an unused sub). Not sure if there is a 3rd place game for the losing semi-finalists?

Think they have a repechage in the African Cup of Nothing, he could be there for another 3 months yet.

Perhaps they've been watching some of our games from earlier in the season and it's rubbed off on them?

All England are missing to be a championship contender is a commanding centreback. Hate to say it but a John Terry type would fit the bill.

would prefer a Bobby Moore style reader of the game, but they don't seem to exist any more. Blood and guts defending is ultimately a sign of lack of quality, though it can be stirring to watch.

Erm Terry has been in the team for 8 years and we haven't looked anything like a contender???

Matt, are you 10 years old??? Yes, the top team in country has 4 players in the team. Well done, unfortunately one of them is dogshit, one is in the team because of a lack of any other options up front, one is unproven at this level but looks a good player and Rooney is class.

Agreed, those stylish CB are few and far between. Gary Cahill tried to be Franz Beckenbauer for the Brazil goal, can't blame a lad for trying ;) <laugh>
