QUOTE Whatever the future holds, QPR are in safe hands says CEO ⦠I can reassure QPR fans that we have owners who are very successful businessmen and very sensible in business" by Philip Beard Philip Beard has moved to reassure QPRâS fans that the future of the club is safe, regardless of what the future holds. With Rangers currently in a relegation scrap at the foot of the Premier League table, there have been suggestions the club could be in financial turmoil if it were to lose its top-flight status. CEO Beard has moved to alleviate those fears, saying: âTony Fernandes has never said he will leave the club if weâre relegated. âWe have got wonderful owners. Tony has been at the forefront of it, but we have got three other fantastic owners in Din (Kamarudin Bin Meranun), Ruben (Emir Gnanalingam) and Amit Bhatia. âWe are in it for the long-term. We have got short, medium and long-term ambitions. This is a tough, tough season for us but whatever happens we are focused on what we have to do over the long-term.â Following Rangersâ recent activity in the January window, which saw the club twice break its transfer record to sign Loic Remy and, days later, Chris Samba, Beard was also keen to stress the Board are not being reckless in an attempt to remain in the Premier League. âI can reassure QPR fans that we have owners who are very successful businessmen and very sensible in business,â he added. âRecent reports regarding what money our players are on are completely wide of the mark. Chris Samba was keen to come back to England, this is where his family are. âHe is not on anything like has been suggested. Even if we win trophies, with all sorts of different bonuses, he would not get anywhere close to the money that has been reported. âWe are in the middle of a tough season and there are no guarantees about whatâs going to happen but Chris was keen to come back to the UK. âWe have a vision here about what we are looking to achieve and hopefully over the next three or four years Chris will help us to get there.â UNQUOTE Possible conflict with what Harry has said about Samba being a great asset to sell if we are relegated.
The message is loud and clear and we need to accept it publicly even if some may have doubts. After all we can't do anything about it ourselves. It would be nice if somebody actually said something about Remy's injury before the paranoia gets to everyone.
This totally. Worrying about what might happen IF we go down ain't gonna help so looks like we've just gotta trust the board.
I think he is just stating that because others have said we have bought players we cant off load. Whatever he says Staines we will always get the dumb 'donuts' who won't believe it, thats why whenever i read bitter posts about us i cant be bothered to give a reasonable response.
Has Fernandes sold Caterham? Only ask because the QPR badge has disappeared off the cars unveiled today.
It was TF who said that. Harry said the club had got value in both players and that they'd make the club money if we went down.
Good, clear statement of commitment. Now the focus should be on getting behind the team in our fight to stay up. Some news on Remy's injury wouldn't go amiss though.
Wiki has the shareholder as "the Mittal family". So the ownership of the shares could be held by a company owned by members of the Mittal family, the dominant shareholder presumably being Lakshmi. In any event, Amit and Lakshmi act as one.
nice responses on this thread to another clear statement of intent from the club hierarchy. As Ellers says there will always be some who prefer not to believe/trust, not much that can be done about that.
Harry meant that Samba has a lot of value and so could be resold for a good sum if wanted/needed. He means that there isn't such a big risk because of this. He did NOT say that Samba WILL be sold if relegated.
No the QPR badge is still on the car just moved from on top of the car to the sides, next to the air intakes.
We are always complaining about the lack of communication between club & fans. Yet, when the club does communicate with the fans some of us still beat up on them. We have now heard from HR, TF & PB on the state of the team, club finances, short term/long term plans along with assurances regarding staying in the Prem or being relegated & a statement of intent if the latter happens, God forbid. What more do we need them to say?! We have to take at face value what we hear from the club. The board are no mugs & are very good business men. Let them do what they do best. In the meantime, let us fans do what we do best.....support the club that we love & back them to the hilt regardless of what happens at the end of the season!!!!
