In the press conference Dutch National Team manager Louis van Gaal named Tim Krul as the starting goalkeeper in his line up against Italy played this evening. Van Gaal will field an experimental team in this friendly match against the Italians. During the conference he stated that he will field the following eleven players:

    Tim Krul(Newcastle United)

    Daley Blind(Ajax) - Bruno Martins Indi(Feyenoord) - Stefan de Vrij(Feyenoord) - Daryl Janmaat(Feyenoord)

    Adam Maher(AZ Alkmaar) - Kevin Strootman(PSV) - Jordy Clasie(Feyenoord)

    Jeremaine Lens(PSV) - Robin van Persie(Manchester United) - Ola John(Benfica)

This will be Krul's 5th cap for the National Team. The game will be played in the Amsterdam Arena and starts at 19:30

I can see Krul losing out on the #1 keeper , due to his ****e kicking. Makes you wish you had Williamson on kicking duty.

Tends to just pass to a defender or midfielder coming back to receive the ball for the Dutch.

    Really pleased for Krul.

It really feels like he is one of us and I often forget he is Dutch.

Pleased for Krul. His kicking is suspect but at least he has stopped with 60 yard bombs. He is top class in every other regard, and his kicking will improve. Went through a sticky spell recently but like all good players, came out the other side.

Surely we should sign up this Clasie, Jordy from the Dutch team. Sounds ideal for the Toon.

Cove - Is Daley Blind even a patch on his dad? I used to love watching him in that great Ajax team.

nah mate, Danny Blind was a defensive midfielder with a ruthless attitude on the pitch. His son is a left back similar to Buttner, good skills in offensive, but crappy in defending. Nothing like his dad.

What you did there...I see it.

And I remember Danny Blind too, part of the great Ajax teams of the 90s with Bergkamp and co.
