I think we should give the new set up a chance before we slate those involved.......

Weighty no one is slating them but the fact remains that this is just another piece of PR Spin from Mr Evans! In reality he gets rid of Clegg to save a salary and installs 2 MD's who are already on the payroll so in reality there will be no change! Instead of having Clegg as the mouth piece there will now be 2 people in day to day charge.

Well it depends on how these two go about the job, I've said before that Clegg does not seem to do alot so maybe his duties will be added to the duties of these two therefore saving money. And if M.Evans wants to be more in the loop with smaller matters that can only be a good thing as he can make the decisions on the spot.

Hopefully the new set up will take Big Micks advice on the football side of things and i'm sure Evans knows these two will go about things in the way he wants.

We won't know how adventurous Evans will be until the summer.....

I think we're all looking at different aspects of this.

    There's the footballing side - Mick's

financial & strategic - our two newly promoted MD's

PR - ??? Actually being invisible would rule ME out

I'm sure he would be happy to sit in the background and pull the strings. But as rightly mentioned before we need a public face for the club. Maybe even increase the role of an PR agency...?

Simon Milton step forward, you are the new face of ITFC.
Bye bye Mr Clegg, I wish you well in your next venture but I'm not sad to see you go.

Our history should be our future, I like your thinking Warky <ok>

We've got a vast array of respected elders that we should be tapping into.

We're known for being a nice & friendly club so use the old boys to this effect.

We tried mean and angry with Keano but everyone knows how that panned out. Friendly and ruthless sounds nice.

The footballing heirarchy in EA is currently out of kilter. FOYB

Mick McCarthy shouldn't have to answer to Mick Mills or anyone else when it comes to footballing matters.

If you want to have a Director of Football it needs to happen at the next change of management, and it needs to be entirely their choice of manager.

I am not suggesting that McCarthy should answer to Mick Mills or any other ambassador! What I am saying is that it would be great to have a well known 'Public Face' to the club like the budgies have with Delia! All we have at the moment is a non-entity. I respect ME's right to remain private but we need a figure head for the club and someone that we can trust and relate to. That is all I am saying! <ok>

Not the kind of face that I'd want associated with my club! <yikes>

<laugh> I get the idea, since Mills is not on the board like Delia is and isn't to make any footballing decisions in an advisory role, we should have him parade around for the cameras with a caption 'Look, it's Mick Mills'. Makes perfect sense. <laugh><ok>

Sorry, don't know where you're going with this, we do need these people involved more, I know Man United do this, but outside the region I don't think many people under the age of 50 will have even heard of Mick Mills and within the region our legends already get involved in events. I don't really think it's what we need to be focusing on until the operations off the pitch and the football on the pitch improves.

    No Thanks!

I want someone who has the best interests of ITFC at heart not someone who pretends!

O/T I notice that the ****ers at the FA have produced their 150 second promotional film celebrating their achievements with all the usual back slapping... Not one mention of the greatest ever England Manager! Absolute bloody disgrace <grr>

I am afraid that you don't have the money or the fan base to be the best in east Anglia anymore.

Perhaps the county boundaries could be redrawn and merge suffolk with Essex?

Agree with you JWM on this one. Like I said when I first heard ME was going to be taking more of a hands on role with the support of 2 board members I thought initially great but then I saw that it was just 2 of his inner circle not actually Town supporters I was dissapointed. It would've been great if one of those members was a town fan who wasn't a 'yes man'. Whatever happens we need a figurehead, I hope Evans eventually steps up!!

Take note at the anymore.... Treacle you have just admitted that we are no longer the best club in East Anglia but at least you've admitted we were up until 2 years ago!! The planets will realign soon enough!!

    And he does not protest...

It's not the water I'm going back into. I think I'm going to have to put my head in the sand though to prevent me thinking less of others, particularly grown men who get kicks from being a perennial wum on a football forum

    what has society beco......

nope got my head in the sand in time, everything is fine!!!
