While widely derided for his complete lack of footballing knowledge, his job is a thankless task when things are not going so well for the club. I'm sure he's done some good. Thanks and that for all your efforts, the turnstiles have never looked so good. A very strange appointment, more for ME than ITFC methinks...
It seems that ME has realised that he is throwing good money on a role/employee that isn't really proving value for money. I am a little concerned with the line "Marcus Evans and the rest of the club’s board will take a more active role in the running of the club." is this going to be a step forward or a step backwards... Only time will tell I guess And I have to agree with Blue Monkey, he was always going to have a difficult job given the circumstances of the club and the way it was run and he clearly had a very steep learning curve which cost him (and us) early on. But thank you for your time and you did your role of taking some of the heat off the owner and good luck in the future

Thank the lord he is leaving, and thank the lord ex town board member Derek Bowden got the chief executive position at Essex County Cricket Club, if it had gone a few weeks earlier Captain turnstyle Clegg might have wormed his way in there, juggling finances at a cricket club is a difficult job, and I support them, so good. His demise should have been much earlier of course, with many whispers that he bungled deals, his public relations with supporters was a disaster, one can never forget his bumbling effort on the radio, when we had the game against Middlesborough abandoned, goodbye and good riddance.
A conversation: ME: Hi Mick it's Marcus. You've been in the job a week now, how's it going? MM: Please, for the love of God, if you only do one thing this season please get that completely inept tosspot Simon Clegg out of the club so we can get on with things. ME: Are you sure? He told me things were going great since he's been at the club. MM: It's either me, or him.
Ta very much whoever moved by duplicated thread x McLeish has walked out on Florist! Who's next then? Can't be Chops, he must still owe the club £££ I'm going for Adkins, Cortese seems like a meglomaniac
Have you been living under a rock Blue Monkey or is this a typo? Adkins was sacked by Cortese a couple of weeks ago and the whole of the internet was awash with opinions...
I'm personally very happy with this news, never liked the bloke and through the couple of email correspondences we had as well as any time I read or heard an interview with him I really disliked his persona. Arrogant, up his own ass etc etc. The only question I have is who the hell is going to be running the club? Who are these directors that have been named, anyone have a clue?
