Defoe went off with an ankle injury today. If Togo win their ACoN match tonight then Adebayor won't be coming back yet. Could be another stroke of luck like Hazard kicking a ball boy.

Adebayor loves playing against us, so knowing our luck they'll get knocked out and he'll be back in the country within 24 hours <wah>

Spurs is a tricky away day whether they have strikers or not. Bloody Louis Saha and Adebayor ripped us apart at theirs last year didn't they?

We need to defend better. Less pushing the full-backs on, I think.

I know - going to be cheering on Togo tonight!

Agree that the match will still be tricky but it's good news about Defoe because he knows how to use his pace against us. Wouldn't wish injury on him, but every little helps!

After seeing Sissoko smoke Cole I think Spurs should be concerned about how their fullbacks do!

I'm also slightly concerned about Dempsey. He's having a very poor season by his usual standard, but he scored that hattrick against us last season and if he's upfront he'll be a big threat!

Togo are currently losing, so Adebayor could be joining Cheick on that flight back to the UK.

    Shame Adebayor is back.

On the african striker front, Peter Odemwingie is probably not feeling the best, lad has had a bit of a **** week really.

Nigeria are flying without him and he has missed out on a small personal fortune.

Plus free sex for a week if they win...

Considering they're Nigerian prostitutes I'm guessing he's dodged a bullet there.

I'm guessing they'll start Lewis Holtby, who looked decent yesterday, in midfield and push dempsey upfront. Think we'd do well to get a draw

A few weeks ago, we would've bitten anybody who suggested we'd get 7 points off our 3 games hand off!

I agree!! even if we lose at spurs i'd of bitten their hand off for 6pts. It should be a good game, i'm just struggling to get that 5-0 out my head from last year

Jonas on the right again to help double up on Bale?

Mind you, Ryan taylor managed to keep him quiet in last year's home game when Harry thought he'd play Bale on the right in the first half to "exploit our weakness".

At least we'll have Cheick back. Then again, Perch was great against Chelsea and shouldn't really be dropped

This could be so huge for the club. A good draw or even a win at Spurs would set us up so well considering the run of four of five winnables that follow. Part of football I think is in the fear, that standing in the tunnel before a game, who am I playing against feeling. Look at Man U - just knowing you have to play them knocks some of the wind out of most teams, even before you're standing beside RvP, Rooney, Vidic, etc. For us, it's been a case if other sides immediately feeling superior because of our miserable form, then we lost the only player who was making the opposition worry - Ba - so we were well beatable. Standing in a tunnel alongside Sammy Ameobi, Bigirimana or Williamson probably gives the opposition a boost. Now we line up with Spurs knowing what we just did to Chelsea, standing in a tunnel with Sissoko, Cabaye, Stevie Taylor and maybe even Cheick Tiote. The confidence from these lads will be incredible, I think when that whistle blows we start with the advantage. Don't get me wrong, it's likely we'll not win this match - Spurs doing well. But our record against the Top 4 is pretty good. I wonder what we'd have left Old Trafford with if we'd had a Sissoko or Cabaye on form that day?

Bottom line is, that of all the teams in the Prem, WE are the ones nobody wants to play right now. It's our time to shine!

If we can pick up a win against Spurs I see no reason why we can't eclipse that amazing run of 6 straight wins we had last spring. Southampton, Swansea, Stoke and Wigan are all their for the taking if we play like we have done the last two games, and our team is only going to get stronger with Tiote and Benny coming back. Although last season that run of form was ended with a 4-0 thumping away to Wigan, I'd happily take that again if it meant 12 points from the 4 games prior to it!

Cheick back is a big plus point.
When parker passes sideways... hopefully there will be Tiote to mop up...
