Been reading the posts on here from everyone and I have to admit I'm mystified. We have a couple of weeks where we do really well go 7 points above the barcodes and it's happy funny fellas all day long. fast forward a week and two poor games and it's "sack O'Neill", relegation threads, how much longer do we give MON etc. etc.etc.
Good ****ing grief lads you are acting as if you haven't experienced this thing before and if you haven't then you have only been a Sunderland supporter for a very small amount of time. It's been a bad week for us yes I agree and, I'm as pissed off as much as the next man but, is this more to do with the barcodes stringing together a couple of good results and catching us up a bit? Or is it because we are a truly terrible team now one week after the vast majority saying we were great?
We cannot change anything at the club that is down to MON and, although not my first choice as manager I'm right behind him and trust that he will get it sorted hopefully sooner rather than later.
    KTF FTM etc. etc. etc.

I suppose its why the echo office portrays the last result with its arms

The last result dictates the mood of the city

Mon will get it right i' convinced of this and it will take one hell of alot for me to change my mind

Some peoples cups are half full, others are half empty, thats just persona, each to there own!

It would be just like us to turn arsenal over on saturday? Or then again we might not? Thats what keeps us interested, ups and downs, constantly living in hope expecting dissapointment is what supporting the lads is!

We all want success, very rarely does it come overnight

we play absolute ****e football with not one ounce of anything at all positive

we were 4th in the form table last week and I was thinking what the hell is up with me I can't get into it this season, we wer 4th and we have been rubbish, the way we set up we will always produce the horror performances on a regular basis

nothing will change my view on that, not Newcastle winning next 10, Newcastle losing next 10, us winning or losing next 10

we have no plan B at all

Great when Talc? Against West Ham aye but v Swansea we were ****e & he go's & picks the exact same team.
Johnson was ****ing dire yet again & Jimmy Mack is as much use a chocolate fireguard, the bloke should be sent to the bonemill to make glue cos he's useless & as thick as pig ****.
MON hasn't got a ****ing clue. On the plus side DG had a mint debut, (not).

For me, normal service never stopped in the first place. It's difficult to dream and feel excited when you are watching negative 4-5-1, 35% possession football. There is only so much a fan can take... We are apparently in the best position as we have been for many a year, yet we play a brand of football that at times, make me feel sick to the pit of my stomach.

This club is big enough and has enough resources to go out and play attacking football. I would like to know if I will ever witness SAFC fullfilling its obvious potential? I believed and thought that Bruce had cracked it right up until the aftermath of Sessegnon and Muntari. We have been on a downward curve although MON has stabilized the club, a process that was required . However what we are watching today, cannot go on indefinately. The fans don't like it and the club is big and powerful enough to play a brand of attacking football that is exciting without any concerns of relegation.

At least you've had a couple of weeks when you thought the season might end positive ...

If you're down now, well think of how April will probably go. :emoticon-0149-no:

I suggest some Sunderlands fans might want to give Samaritans a call with the opening line "I support Sunderland, I will never be happy....................."

The threads on here sometimes gives me the same feeling as watching an episode of Eastenders.

After reading/watching I just want to go into the next room and hang myself!

Ditto Dorset but I am beginning to think a bridge to far for Mon. Don't get me wrong but as an ex-amateur boxer and successful at that the sport has moved on so much since I last pulled on the gloves. I was made up when Mon took the job and like a few others on here remembering the man's successes well thought that we had landed the missing link as far as Safc were concerned. What I am seeing at the moment tactically is a man re living the glory days of the 80's as a player and 90's as a manager who is not up to speed in this era of football where tactics, scouting etc are concerned. I admire the man to bits and respect his intelligence but like me pulling the gloves on again, he needs to change his approach to football now as I would boxing..

Absolutely spot on mate - I was at the Madejeski and I don't think I've enjoyed many games less. Watching some of the other games on Match of The Day (yes I know its highlights) but even so teams are playing so much more intelligent football that we are at the moment. Wigan v Southampton (2 smaller clubs than ours) played some really good stuff that we can only dream about at the moment.

Set peices are doing my head in at the moment - I thought O'Neills teams were always good at set pieces - ours are a total joke and have been all season. Larsson is a poor set piece taker - although its fashionable to say he is good. Johnson and McClean aren't too much better. Gardner is the only decent one but O'Neill may be reluctant to use him if he plays at full back.

Also, I'm sick of the ball being hoofed gormlessly forward by O'Shea and Bramble - they really don't need to do it and should be more composed.
I never wanted O'Neill but it would be rash if he was sacked. Hopefully we can find a plan B and urgently - or we will go down.

We are not in danger of going down imo but we are in danger of having the season just fizzle out again and that's not acceptable.

I still think MON is right for the job & hopefully be given the time to get together the type of squad he himself wants, biggest time to tell will be what happens in the summer when he has another chance to get rid of some more of the crap we have on the books & replace them with "next step" players.

In the meanwhile though, & this is what I think must get to most fans, is that where so ****ing boring to watch even bordering on painful at times. I can honestly say there has been times this season when iv'e been watching games & not managed to see out the full 90 minutes, instead iv'e just checked the score when the games ended.

I take your point but hasn`t he had time already to shift more of the crap. We all know he`s inherited a squad of average players but he`s still got most of them.

I wonder if Ellis Short is holding back. He`s already financed Bruce buying 2 full teams only to see things head downward and for that reason alone I don`t blame him for being cautious.

If MON can manage a top ten place with what we`ve got (plus his own additions settled by then) we may see more of a summer splash.

imo I think we need to.
