I guess if BZ is struggling Bets is an option as a holding striker. BUT the Hulsinator would have been the better flick on option.

You want entertainment. I want results. If you're getting results then you can try and entertain, not the other way around.

Well, with Taarabt you'll get entertainment alright. He'll do some step overs in the middle of the field and drag the ball to and fro to make the crowd go "wow". But he does little at the other end of the field where it counts. I've gotten to the stage now where I just can't watch him any more, he infuriates me so much. He squanders so much good ball its criminal. He takes the wrong decision (IE never pass) time and again and wastes every free we get (and most corners). When I seen him getting the ball to take the penalty I turned to the bloke beside me and said "this Clown is going to miss this". And of course he did. He shouldn't be let near a set piece ever again. He's far too casual. Its amazing he's been let take them for so long as it is.

With Mackie, you don't get useless tricks (which end up with the ball in the same place it started), you get the simple lay off and the continuance of an attack. Yes he doesn't have any skill but isn't it amazing (or scandalous - depends which way you look at it) that he gets as much real, tangible results from his play as a player with 100 times more skill?

We obviously just have different ideas on how the game should be played mate.

Well, we're not getting results (wins - 1 at home all season) or entertainment (8 goals in 12 home league games) so far. I am not being drawn into another Adel debate, and if you've returned to start that up again, and genuinely prefer to watch Mackie play, you are being perverse and deserve all the **** which will descend on your head.
Though to be fair my son turned his back and refused to watch the pen, and I wasn't surprised when he missed.

    Well then I'm perverse.

Your boy knew what was coming. You knew what was coming. I knew what was coming. The bloke beside me knew what was coming. Yet he's still being allowed to take our F & P kicks.

Don't you see summat wrong in that?

If we'd won and Adel hit the winner Swords wouldn't be on here tonight, he's in his element...

You've obviously returned to simply carry on your ridiculous, one-eyed criticism of our best player by a country mile. No-one misses on purpose and it was actually a very good save, not a particularly poor penalty.
Taarabt has done exactly what his detractors have been saying he couldn't this season. He's been consistently good and was again yesterday. I do agree that he should be relieved of most of the free kicks and all of the corners. For some reason, he just doesn't deliver them well at all.

Anyone who prefers to watch Mackie over Taarabt clearly has little knowledge of the game and that is something that you demonstrate with alarming regularity. I presume we'll get 2 or 3 weeks of this crap from you and then you'll (hopefully) disappear again.

Really? Do you think the Mackie haters would be calling him all the names under the Sun if he'd buried that penalty (which he would have)?

    Wakey wakey time.

That betrays your bias right there. It was a sh*t penalty. Absolutely sh*t. It wasn't hit with any real purpose or conviction and was the perfect height for the Keeper. Exactly what I and a lot of people knew would happen. But not you of course.

Untrue. He has improved immeasurably, no doubt about it. But his detractors were calling for more than what he's delivered. His decision making continues to be awful, his show-boating to the crowd is still embarrassing and he couldn't hit a barn door with his shooting. Credit where its due though and he does try, he does track back and occasionally he puts people through. A good player. But far from great.

How can ones preference of one players style over another have anything to do with knowledge of the game? Surely such a thing is down to taste alone?
You're attracted to players who mess around on the ball and then lose it whilst I prefer players who pass the ball to unmarked team mates. To say someone with the latter preference has no knowledge of the game is disingenuous.

Nope, you'll get it continually. Easily pleased ignoramuses who fawn all over a player who's all style and little substance will continue to irk me to the point that I feel like I have to continuously point out the error of their ways.

That means, as long as you're here COL..................................I'll be here also. ;)

With that, you have completely shown how little you know or understand about the game. To continue to try to converse with someone so obviously lacking in any fundamental understanding of the game is obviously futile.
You're a WUM who never appears when we win and who clearly supports Chelsea.

I will try to ignore your obvious wumming as then, hopefully you'll get bored and get back to the Chelsea board.

Agree, he was nervous. Still think it was a very good save though. Reasonably in the corner......not straight at him. Didn't miss on purpose though. He needs support. He's our only threat and he knows it!

He looked in the mood at the start of the first half, nearly scored a cracker. Then they started winning the midfield & we started going long and couldn't get the ball to him.

My old man - okay he's getting well on in years now but his mind's still sharp as a tack - has a great football brain. Always had. He'd see things in a game that I wouldn't even think of. His was the 50's and 60's Rangers and he didn't miss a home game in 13 years during that time. Now, I don't always agree with him on football but he has been saying the exact same things about Tarbs as me - well, not as vociferous but the same sentiment. Today he said he'd take him off and not play him in the next game. OTT of course but my point is COL, there are a number of people who can't stand players like Taarabt half the time. Its not just me. There are a number of people on this Board too.

We've only won twice for fu*k's sake! :emoticon-0111-blush

The time we beat Chelsea I was away from the Board for a week. The Fulham win, I was on praising the performance.

Look, you've always had difficulty accepting another viewpoint from your own and this "Chelsea supporter" thing is your way of coping. Its too painful for you to accept that you mightn't be right all the time so you pretend to yourself that I support Chelsea and am only winding you up.

    Catch yourself on COL

I just don't want to see us down the same road we have had with previous managers, the more worrying thing for me was how downbeat harry was after the game. We need to keep him onside and hope he stays with us if we go down he shouldn't be blamed for it this is the welsh twats doing.
