I'm starting to really love this bloke (stares lovingly into the distance)-

    http://www.themag.co.uk/the-mag-articles/sissoko-i-am-going-to-do-it-for-the-geordies/?

We bring you exclusive footage from the new signings inside St.James’ Park.

Thanks to our much valued interpreter Pieere, we bring you the words in English as well -

There is more from Mapou following his “Oh La Vache” (‘Oh Holy Cow’) when seeing St Jame’s Park in daylight.

In the changing room with microphone in hand, Mapou:

“In France the weather is not so cold, here it is cold and it is snowing” (after all he has been playing for Montpellier in the south of France and probably swam in the Mediterranean sea, somewhat slightly different to Whitley Bay and the north sea!).

    Mapou continues by saying,

“With regards to breathing the air is fresh, there is not going to be any problems; I’ve come with the intention of playing to have the maximum of time on the pitch, to show what I am capable of doing. Here it is, I had to also consider other things, I had to think seriously as I did not want to leave and end up not getting sufficient playing time, I thought seriously about it and chose Newcastle”.

The camera take you to the weights room with the comments that they are not pretending for the cameras and there will be some hard work, the new French players expect to suffer!

    Gouffran:

“This is a new culture with another way of playing football, I’ve arrived in January and I have to bring what I can do. I don’t think it is a different standard, it is more in the head and if you want to succeed and show what you can do, you will get there.”

The video takes you to the St. James’ Park changing room where there is mention of the French National Team –

    Gouffran:

“Why not, by being good and efficient, the door is not closed for me, so who knows?”.

It is mentioned that may be another reason for coming to Newcastle could be to have more chance of getting in the French squad!

The camera then follows Sissoko in the changing room next to his named NUFC shirt.

    Sissoko:

“Certain things happened with the President and I was unable to play the last match for Toulouse against PSG, I was frustrated, after all it was his choice, I had to accept it, it was difficult, there you have it ‘voila!!’ (which they say all the time!!).

I will always remember my great ten years at Toulouse, as I am saying now today I am a Newcastle player, I am hoping to do as well as I did for Toulouse, by coming here one could say you’ve moved to another level, I’ll have the opportunity of playing against Manchester City, Manchester United, this is brilliant for a player. If I came here it is to play that sort of games, I am going to do it for the Geordies!”

The club is expecting great things from their French recruits…..

His passes are well-weighted, like the one for Santon which set up his goal, he has blistering pace and is a load, look at the one where he beat Ashley Cole!

His intelligence on the pitch shows, just pure quality. 2 million ?!?!

Well said. They're trying to say on the BBC that we owe him one for not giving Colo a red card and a penalty to Chelsea but I'm having none of it.

I'll never forget his role in sending us down with that disallowed headed from Viduka versus Fulham. He gives us fat NOTHING every single game we suffer him. We won today in spite of him and it feels great!

I've said it for a long time but if that's the best ref this country has then it should be embarrassed.

And they on't shout about the fact that with other refs, Ramirez could have seen red I the first half.

How can anyone complain about the ref?

He was very lenient. Colo's boot coulda technically be a pen (even if the ball was already gone) and Cissé could have been off for his neck grab on Cashley. Ramires could have been off for his two footer but honestly, there wasn't a lot of malice in the game given the tempo that was played. Cissé lost the plot momentarily but a sending off would have been a bit like Gervinho on Barton, soft.
