Before we get down to business tomorrow; a little trip down memory lane from 1984. Anyone else remember this? Football as it used to be played - albeit not the result that we were looking for. I'm sure I remember reading in our next home match programme that we also donated crates of Guiness to the fireman and support crew who contributed to ensuring the match went ahead dispite the fire. Given the result we perhaps targetted the wrong group and should have sent a case in pre-kick off for Mick Channon and John Deehan to enjoy before 3.00pm! Queens Park Rangers came to Carrow Road in October 1984 for a Division One match that almost didn't get the go ahead. Just a couple of days earlier much of the Main Stand was damaged by fire, but after discussions with the police and the council the game was given the green light following a couple of major adjustments. Goals from Mick Channon and John Deehan game the Canaries a 2-0 victory, as shown by these highlights which include an interview with the Bishop of Norwich. http://www.norwich.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=263704 Edit: Team for today. ‎#QPR XI: Cesar; Fabio, Samba, Hill, Traore, SWP, Derry, Mbia, Townsend, Taarabt, Mackie. #QPRvNOR ‎#QPR Subs: Green; Park, Granero, Jenas, Ben Haim, Zamora, Bothroyd. #QPRvNOR
Not sure about SWP being fit - but if so, would like to see him back in. Hope this is the team we start with: Cesar Onohua Samba Hill Fabio SWP Granero Mbia Traore Taarabt Remy I think Granero showed enough against Man City in the second half to start, with the likes of Jenas ready to step in if needed in the second half. Would love to see Hoillet on the bench, with Zamora and Townsend, to change things up if necessary. Derry to calm things down if we can press a lead. Tough call for Harry explaining to Brian Murphy that he's out of the match day squad, but I just don't think we can accommodate him for this match. Will Park make the bench? (Excuse the pun).
My guess is Harry will play Derry in every game till the end of the season. He won't leave the back four exposed.
Just about to set off for LR, very excited about today, this is where it all kicks in, against the yellow and green flying vermin. Sorry lads, kiss of death I know......
Also just about to head in from Hampton on my push bike. Very very excited. Come on your r'sssssssss. Remember all traffic will be a nightmare to partial closure of SB green.
Good work Sku. I like the balance of that team. Maybe Taarabt on the left with freedom to roam and Zamora for Traore if we want to go for some pressure high up the field (guess that would be later on though).
Come on you R's. Big game. I'm at work and and going to attempt the impossible - shut myself off and watch the recording tonight once everyone's home to bed. Gutted no to be there, but give a mighty roar on my behalf.
Great run Adel, went very close. But they had the best chance so far. Don't understand Mackie as lone Striker when we have Zamora and Betty on the bench and DJ in the Squad. He has only been visible outside the box so far. Now Adel set him up, but he missed or passed across goal with no one there.
Having possession... but not seeing us scoring yet.. we need to be more threatening I hate Holt. Cheating fat f#*k!!!
