I always thought Watson and Hughes were bad sales. Dependable versatile players who gave everything. The sort of players SAF holds onto at Manure until he has sucked them dry in terms of getting them to perform. Really integral to a squad system. O'Shea/Brown were two good examples.

Seeing as Robert has been mentioned copiously, I'm saying Craig Bellamy... Wonderful, wonderful football player. His surname is sooooo tantalizingly close to summing up his horrible personality, but a great player we really missed when he left.

There's a great Pedro DVD out, we watched it on the way to one of the away games. A must have for all Pedro fans, just don't know what it was called.

Distin, we've lacked a decent CB for years why we never bought him after an initial loan, I don't know?

Saw Bellers in his first game for us and thought, "This guy is going to score a ton of goals for us with his one on ones with the keeper after belting past the defence". Just didn't know what his personality was like and he wasn't terribly well liked by his team mates.

Good shout Tash. Milner going sparked a chain reaction that culminated in losing a manager, lots of key players and our Premier League status.

That said, we also got rid of a bunch of money grabbing wasters, had a cracking time in the Championship with some real fans and got the club in a good financial situation.

Milner was a great player though and we miss his deliveries.

Once again, saw him in his first game and he owned the flank, just lost the defence off completely with his speed and skill, was sorry to see him go.

    Gazza

There have been lots of good to great players sold including Ferdinand and Robert and Pedro ( not Milner though !!!) but the one who could have been and at times was the best player in the world ( not with us though ) was Gazza. Is still the best teenager I ever saw live. I saw George Best ( not sure if he was a teenager the first time I saw him live but Gazza could have been better if only he had a brain.

Sir Bobby Robson....... Should never ever have left NUFC in the way he did, still saddens me to this day that he was treated so very shoddily by the Board of a club he clearly loved and did so much for.
Followed by Ferdinand, Distan and Ba.

Has GOT to be Bellamy for me. We were literally at the peak of our game. Shearer + Bellamy up front, with a young, daredevil midfield who feared nobody... And oh Graeme had to say soemthing about it. I will never forgive him ever.

Bellamy is really an underrated finisher.

How often do we come across gems of strikers with that kind of game-breaking pace and can finish a ball as well (Obertan <doh>)
Made Owen seem slow(which he really was never as fast except his earliest years)

Losing Bellamy was a huge blow to us and we never really could recover from, since we signed Kluivert to replace him(along with the emergences of Lomano Lua Lua and Foluwashola)
