Throughout your Toon supporting career which one player do you regret us letting go?

For me it would be Ferdinand. When he left and Shearer got crocked our season suffered badly.

Ferdinand for me too, we were playing at goodison park in a pre season friendly when shearer done his ankle
Ferdinand gave 100% he loved the club he still calls newcastle us when he talks about them
His goal ratio I think was better then shearers, he could have stayed for many years and what a partnership With the two of them.
Another one was the late great Gary speed, he stil did a great job at Bolton for several yrs, he was such massive influence off the field on a young team

I know he's not a player, but Bobby Robson. Our decline started when he was sacked.

Bit of Nostalgia here, David Kelly!! That last minute goal he scored at home in the last home game of the season when we almost went down 2nd Division just after KK came was special. The Gallowgate went F**kin Mental that afternoon. Special days!!!!

You know what, I'm going to say Nolan. I know we were trying to break up the player power club, but I still think we had a place for him last year, and could have done with him on-field this season especially.

Not many players scores a hatrick on their last game
(7.1 v Leicester) looking back that was a crucial time on our history

I remember that game. I had a broke my ankle playing 5 a side a few week before but still went to the game with my pot on. Got caught in a surge in the Corner of the Gallowgate and broke it again!! Had to have it broke and reset again!! Crying with the pain but still stayed to the end though!! lol

I do miss 5 aside and all forms for playing but don't regret retiring a few years ago
As towards the end of my playing days I had a season ticket at a&e with different forms
    Of injuries
That game was 93 so 20 yrs this summer, that's scary

Knew a kid called David Kelly down South at the time, daft as a brush but a really nice kid. Looked just like our Kelly but no relation. (As far as he knew).

Robert. Lazy ****er, but on his day unplayable. Those 2 rakers he scored against the spuds still stick in my head.

And who could forget those grey undercrackers ???

Sir Les was a great player, a good goal scorer but was always happy to lay one on for someone else. He complimented big Al better than anyone else could have.
