I have had a think about our dealings in this window:

    INS
Morison - we know he can do the business and has pace, but Becchio was scoring goals for us. Think this is going to work out okay for us, will mean defenders have to be a bit more mobile against us and can open up space for our midfielders to attack.

Habibou - he has been given the chance to earn a permanent deal at a massive club, so at least he is a loanee with a target. Hopefully he will graft his socks off (socks4hab) and prove to be a super addition.

Warnock - not to everyone's liking, but at least he is experienced and solid. Our back four against Spurs was very young, and in a one off game okay, but over a stretch of gruelling matches we need an experienced player around our young 'uns. Steady and reluable, good enough for me. Also frees up White's pace in an attacking role, just need a right sided midfielder now.

Tonge - we know what we're getting, steadies our midfield.

Hall - don't understand this one. He's not a kid anymore, so should be our wide right player but can't get a run. Will he become another one of those we end up loaning out and then releasing early?

Barkley - would be great to get him for rest of season. Can't see us getting him on a permanent unless we go up.

    OUTS
Rachubka, Connolly, Pugh, Kisnorbo all toast, so excellent work getting them away from club. Also pleased that some of the youngsters are getting the chance to improve physically at a lower level. Thompson in particular will learn a lot at Bury and hopefully his hard work will give us an improved youngster for the future a l Lees.

    MAYBE
Will be interesting to see what happens when loan window opens. Burke at Birmingham is a genuine target so maybe Warnock has another stab. Boyd is a genuine option, but apparently not on Warnock's radar, although that may be a smokescreen. Hope we sign Barkley to end of season.

Already posted that I wonder whether Habibou will be a new Phil Masinga, or perhaps our new Yeboah?

I'd see if Peterborough fancy loaning us Boyd for the rest of the season and in exchange we'll loan them Hall. It'll give us a better, more experienced/proven player until the end of the season and let's Hall have the chance to prove himself at this level as well. And as far as I'm aware, Fergie Jr wanted Hall as Boyd's replacement prior to him joining us anyway, so they might be willing to do a deal.

Has Morison pace or not because all the reports I keep reading say he is slower than a sack of spuds

All the stuff I've read is about power and pace, which is opposite to what we got from blondie, so wait and see I guess

Sack of spuds has more pace than becchio so should be okay,

Ironically Becchio used to fall over like a sack of spuds all the time

Hahaha....funneeee....at least we kicked Spuds out of the Cup!! The Hall/Boyd deal sounds like a bloody good idea!! That way Hall also gets playing time at this level rather than nothing at Leeds

Seems like we've done good business. Strange to be saying that about Leeds, and it's nice to end a transfer window with positive signings.

Becchio was a great player for us, cult hero and it's sad to see him leave. But he does have his faults, and his lack of pace and poor all round have affected the teams performances. You can't knock him though, because he got the goals and you can only be as good as you are and he was brilliant for us. With Morrison, we have someone who has better all round play than Becchio, and with a bit of pace, so he'll be able to stretch the defence, create space, and our midfield will be more involved. Very happy with this deal, we'll be a better team from it, but thanks to Luciano, been a class player for us, and is for sure a modern day club legend <ok>

Feel sorry for Aidy White though. He's 21 and needs games. Should never have been moved last season to right wing after some impressive games at left back, and looks like he'll find himself out the team sooner rather than later. Warnock is a good addition but I think this may stop White from becoming a good left back, which he definitely could be.

Hall's the only transfer that doesn't really make sense. We're crying out for a pacy winger. He's got some pace and great delivery, why doesn't he play? He's not young, he's 24, so should be starting. Our team has been so static and it's seemed really hard for us to stretch and trouble teams, so he would provide the width and create chances. Should be starting every game.

Still, very positive transfers. Like Tonge, Barkley's a good player and obviously Habibou is unknown but seems to be an exciting player. Credit due to GFH, may not be mega rich, but have spent money in the window and much more positive moves than recent years.

Might be worth emailing those thoughts to Neil Warnock. Works out for everybody

After the Spurs game, I just hope White starts. He's earned the right. Let Warnock bide his time & push White for his place.

Must agree that after Spuds win and these signings I feel much more positive. If Varney can play with the same desire he showed against Spuds we've got a player on our hands. Tonge in for Brown will be good, Green can't do the wide right job. For now stick White down left and Varney down right. Aidy will benefit knowing he has Warnock behind him, and Varney can bring Byram into the game higher up the pitch as well. Let's see what Colin decides to do.

Varney did too well out wide left to be moved from there for me. I reckon Green does very well wide right

Completely disagree re Green. He's excellent on the right. By no means a natural winger, but he puts in a real shift and balances the team well. Allows Byram to run as well, safe in the knowledge that Green can and will cover him.

Billy, I wonder if you watch our games! Jesus! White out left? He's had umpteen chances on the left wing and proved 95% of the time that he just can't do it. Can't cross for toffee. Varney's the same. How many last chances has he got left? Absolute crap so many times. Both have a reasonable game and all of a sudden they're our saviours. Behave. Also, as the other lads are saying, Green does a tremendous job on the right. What exactly is he not doing for you? Want him to juggle plates whilst he plays? He reminds me so much of a young Boyer or even Bakke when they played out on the right. Quality. Now, Tongue in for Brown? Why? Brown was much better than either White or Varney against spuds, but according to you, they are straight in to the Cardiff game (in different positions, I might add - Warnock's influence?), but you want to DROP Brown? Where's the logic in that? End of rant.

Completely agree. If anything I'd take out Austin rather than Brown - he was absolutely heroic against Spurs and to be fair, he's normally one of our better players no matter who we're playing.

I thought that this was an interesting comment with some merit ....

Well, a play off final win is worth an estimated £90 million. And Leeds couldn't even be bothered to stump up an extra 250k. Sad.
