Does anyone know if Stockdale has a recall clause in his loan agreement becuase I just saw on sky sports that Fulhams deal to sign Stekelenburg fell through last night due to Roma not getting a replacement in time
I very much doubt that's the reason it fell through, they've got sh1tloads of keepers and recently signed someone to challenge Steklenberg for the number 2 spot. I know they're saying this was the reason but Id imagine it was financial.
They cannot recall him from a season-long loan as the transfer window has closed. If it was an emergency loan that would be different, but it's not, so stop worrying.
It's a season long loan, so no, they can't recall him. Even if it was a 3 month loan, they would still have to wait 28 days before they could recall him.
Keepers are a different story, if they get an injury they can apply to recall him, remember gulasci went back.
Wasn't that because we allowed him to? I think I heard somewhere that the clubs that currently has the loan player needs to say yes to the parent club
In all honesty, Id actually blocked him from my memory. Shudder. Is he still at Liverpool? Amazing how he has managed to ever get there in the first place although that probably says more about their current state than him...
He can definitely be recalled, you can't normally be recalled from a half season loan, but he has a clause in his loan agreement.
The FA rules are quite clear on this, goalkeepers can be recalled anyway, there's no need for a clause. However, we paid Fulham quite a chunk of money on the agreement they would not do so. Indeed, their own website clearly states
Actually that's not quite true. Our agreement with Sunderland was for two long-term loans of Elmohamady, one running until January 15th and the other from January 16th till the end of the season. That's why they recalled him on exactly the 15th. If we had agreed to take him on a single long-term loan from August they could have recalled him but then not played him again this season - which would have been a bit pointless, really.
It was announced as a season long loan and I'm pretty sure season long loans can be cancelled by the parent club during the transfer window.
Spurs recalled Harry Kane from a season-long at Norwich today (or at least, it was announced today). Seems at odds with the FA rules.
