Napoli striker Edinson Cavani, 25, is hoping that the release clause of £54m in his contract will not put off possible buyers like Manchester City from making a move for him during the summer. Easy come easy go.
Only £54 million? And nobody has thought of signing him? Shocker... Does £4 million + Torres count?
An absolute snip.................. Torres should be a warning to all as far as spending this kind of money goes.
Can you imagine what sort of lineup 50m could've gotten us? Apart from 25 Sissokos, we could've had a Cabaye, Sissoko midfield, Ba for 7m, HBA for 6(+2)m....
For£50m? Krul (0.5m) Santon (5m) MBiwa (7m) Colo (9m) Debuchy (5m) Cabaye (4.5m) Sissoko (2m) Tiote (3.5m) Ben Arfa (4m) Cisse (9m) Gouffran (1m) £50.5m But I had read that Ben Arfa cost as little as 2m and I've rounded up and down in places to even it all out a bit...that team is pretty much our best possible starting line up, purchased for 1 Torres! Immense scouting and wheeler-dealing by Dezza, Lee and Mike!
cracking stuff. Even moreso when I drop the actual market values now next to them.... Krul (10m) Santon (10m) MBiwa (10m) Colo (5m) Debuchy (8m) Cabaye (20m) Sissoko (10m) Tiote (7m) Ben Arfa (15m) Cisse (9m) Gouffran (3m) More than double the cost.....
Indeed. I was at the Chelsea match, back in August last year and I was sitting in the Chelsea end (never again, such morons!) with a Chelsea mate of mine (he got the tickets). While in the bar area at half-time, obviously just after Torres scored to make it 2-0. A group of Chelsea fans started singing "He scores when he wants! He Scores when he wants! Fer - nan - do - tor - res, he scores when he wants!" Even my Chelsea mate was embarrassed to witness such a scene.
I can't be bothered with working this out, but it must be a fortune. I mean, if he scores when he wants, then he must not like scoring!
Include a full bench of: Elliot (0.2m) Saylor (0) Anita (6m) Bigi (1m) Marv (0) Ober (3m) Shola (0) Thats another 10m only, and virtually all the rest of our squad are from the academy
