I've been critical in the past about Ned's lack of speed but has anyone else been impressed with his performances of late? He seems to have come back from personal grief after his mum passed away and is playing out of his skin these days.

I dole out stick sometimes but think it only fair to give credit where it is due. Now that we have Samba in the ranks I hope Ned can work out a decent understanding with him and improve his game even further.

Cheers Mr Onuoha, we all love a tryer.

I totally agree Grove, in fact said the same to Col on his last match report.

I think he is one of many who have raised the bar recently. But I think you're correct, his bar has gone that little bit higher!

Ditto - now starting to play like the sort of player i thought he was when we signed him. I am pleased for him and us! I think playing along side Samba rather than having the additional pressure of playing in a back 4 that included Anton will only mean his form continues to improve.

Totally agree, Ned has been improving on the quiet and should continue to do so with the shored up defence with Samba and no Ferdinand.

He has improved immeasurably. I thought he was excellent against City.

Agree with all if the above, starting to become a very important player for us.

    I thought you meant Zelic!!!

Yes our Ned has looked sharp in the last 2-3 games.

I think he's been playing quite narrowly (almost as a third CB) so should be able to do the CB role if needed.

He's always been good. Excellent without the ball just not too good with it. Defensively I think he's brilliant. CB is his preferred position and I'd like to see a pairing of him and Samba there eventually.

    Top player, triffic.

Wasn't he a sprint champion in his youth? I don't think he lacks pace, i think he's just got such a refined running style that it doesn't always look like he's going that fast. I can't remember seeing him outpaced by anyone?

Yeh, He's been doing very well. No theatricals with him either, he is just quietly getting on with it. All respect to him, I'm sure he was going through a really bad time, now after he lost his Mum, he seems to be playing better than I have ever seen him. Apart from his defending, he seems a lot more confident with the ball, and going forward now too.

Definitely had a run of good games and looked good. Lacks a bit going forward but that would explain it if CB is his preferred position. The boys done good.

    I did too! :)

So does that mean that Ned Zelic was actually Nedum Zelic?

Agree with all that has been said. His performances this year have been so refreshing, it's like we've signed a new player!!! Will give us a great great boost in the back line.

Will probably be our most important defender for the rest of the season. Always said he was a class act, really beginning to show it. Had personal problems at the start of his qpr career.

It always amazes me that people talk about his lack of speed, when in fact he is one of our fastest players............very quick.
I've long sung his praises, although he'll never be an attacking full back. Defensively very sound of late.
