I was expecting today for the whole Egyptians coming to be big news, but literally nothing, hardly a mention on SSN, basically some mumble about Egyptians & Hull mentioned, then back to Gary Hooper not doing anything special. So I went to the SSN page thinking it'll be there, but no, not even on the latest news, so I click on the breaking news button, still nothing, bureau news about Rotherham & some other teams securing contract extensions, not even transfers. So I finally go to the Hull page & there it is,in a corner, a small pic of Elmo with a short story, headline, Hull sign 3 Egyptians. The main headline is a bigger pic of DJC, with the headline, "Rovers close on Campbell deal." FFS, not even a story about us, not even the main story on our page is about us. This is not the first time I have noticed this at Sky.
Christ-sake, these threads are so ****ing tedious. They probably just chose the dj campbell story/picture thing because he's a well-known player, compared to the Egyptians. Not because there's some massive, nationwide conspiracy to ignore City. Why these things even bother people I don't know
Elmo re-signing was on a yellow banner on SSN all night one of about 5 repeating, with such a dull transfer deadline day that was big news, so no conspiracy. However, It's front page news in Egypt second only to the political turmoil.
why does this surprise anyone?? We were hardly champions of Europe in our past, in fact we havent won ANYTHING. To say our trophy cabinet is bare is kinda funny, cos I dont think we even have one. we havent done anything worth noticing in... well.... ever!
i reckon there is more interest in a rumour that a completed signing story , theres no fun in a factual story unlike one where u can let your imagination run wild as a ****ty journo'
a) who cares if there is? b) you really expected a Championship team signing 3 Egyptians on loan would be big news on the over hyped 'deadline day'?. Unless you are in the PL or one of last seasons relegated PL teams spending/signing big then you are lucky to get a mention at some point. While I loved the extra exposure when in the PL, I really don't miss than constant reporting of every tiny non event.
This is the way I prefer it. If we are not widely looked at then that helps to keep us under the radar. If sky sports news had widely and extensively reported that we were to sign DJ Campbell and then everyone sees how he's messed us about, we'd be a laughing stock. We are only a Championship side that is not a massive name so I'm quite happy with no reporting - look at our promotion season, how under the radar were we then - Same again please!!!
I watched ssn for an hour last night. There were 2 short reports about our 3 signings yesterday. We got the same amount of exposure as most other teams, apart from the big transfers. So not only are these threads tedious, this one is also incorrect
This is good, hopefully enemy managers watching ssn didn't notice we'd signed them and come next Saturday they'll stun gus poyet (moaning bastard that he is) like a punch in the nose!
I should have been more specific, not the main page, but the Championship page, is what I was referring to. http://www1.skysports.com/news-wire/11687
Ugh, under the radar, it's the biggest crock of ****e term in football. It makes not one iota of difference if we are on telly every week or get no coverage at all. It's nice to get recognition, but never expect it. Steve Bruce got manager of the month, we went unbeaten throughout December and we got praise for that; what more do you want?
