Which signing has underwhelmed you yet gone on to be top class. Likewise which signing has really excited you to turn out to be a flop.
Possibly Danny Rose, never thought he was anything special but he looks a top player and a cracking professional. I would imagine for a lot of people it'd be Fletcher, but I always rated him and really wanted us to sign him. On the other hand I'd say Sulley Muntari, I used to really rate him for Portsmouth but he really looked like he couldn't be arsed here.

Damien duff from a Newcastle perspective for me. Full if excitement for him signing and he was ****ing ****e. I would say Owen but when he was fit he scored. Perch, totally underwhelming but he has been great for us at times. Could also say tiote as I never knew much of him when we signed him.
For me Niall Quinn - thought he came he for a last pay day and was finished! Just shows what I know. Flo - thought he was going to be the next level for us, sadly he was the next level down.
Fletcher for me although the jury is still out but, if he gets that magical 20 goals this season then I'm more than willing to say I was wrong. This may piss a few people off but, Johnson filled me with great joy when we signed him and thought that was another piece of the final jigsaw to see us go forward and actually become a fixture in the PL and cups and dare I say it Europe. However, he has only shown his ability in the odd game here and there and, to be brutally honest that is not good enough. Not sure why he isn't playing well most of the time but, at this level we can't afford passengers and, for me he is a bit of a passenger at the minute.
1). Mignolet - thought he was an average `emergency` keeper. Glad to be wrong. 2). Wilkinson/Cotterill - Paraded as saviours. Complete failure. wtf was Murray thinking about.
Underwhelmed = Steve Bould, thought he was finished but he was an absolute rock for us. SKP but I didn't pay much attention to it to be honest because of the low fee. Excited = Flo, I expected much better after his time at Chelsea and Johnson so far has been a let down for the fee paid.

Got to say big hat man I'm not sure anyone though he was going to be the best. Think we only paid a million for him. That said. I was underwhelmed by the signing and was still dissapointed at the outcome lol! Steve bould another great shout. He's the best centre half I've ever seen play for the lads. Come on big hat man who are yours for Newcastle?
