Okay Fu king. Here we go. My concerns about Graham are his previous affiliations and never his ability and I have been steady on this from the start. I think the lad can play and he is here now, so we have to move on and he will be a good addition on a football sense So, either read my comments properly, or refrain from making snide comments on them. Rose may not be ours yet, or at all but are you seriously suggesting he isn't an improvement? On no left back at all? Really? JOS is one of my players of the season imo. He has been immense for me and brought stability and calmness to the defence. As for not being further on or better from 2 years ago, I'm staggered you would think not. Those players I mentioned above are far better quality and character than previously acquired and not fly by nights, here one season and gone the next. We are steadily building a squad with a proven quality manager, not the scatter gun approach of his predecessors. It's a massive, massive improvement. We have under achieved for sure and yet we are still within pissing distance of a comfortable top 10 position. We have a plan now and a fantastic future under Mon, one we haven't had for many a year. Now that is an improvement.
We have the option to buy on mangane already agreed so we can't lose out anyway. I still think there will be some horse trading with Rose in the next few months and its still just 50/50 imo whether he stays. Fletcher has been one of the buys of the last few years and unlike Bent, won't be looking to **** off at the drop of a wallet.
that`s the point for me. MON still has plenty of Bruces very ordinary signings to replace but he will wait & get the replacements he wants. Very sensible approach imo.
Can't see the point in looking backwards. What's done is done and we move on. We've suffered with good players who've ****ed off at the drop of a wallet. What's the point in harping back to what we had? None of those who've left of their own volition deserve a place in our team. Those we've moved on, for whatever reason, have our blessings. I'd rather have a solid team that we can build on than wholesale changes every transfer window. The lads that have watched average to very poot Sunderland teams over the years know this to be true.... but we all like to dream!
not 6 years with the same manager though, each time a new manager comes in it sets the clock back as they want to get rid of some of the previous players buys and bring their own style of player in; which is why I hope for a bit of stability, I want MON to get time to build up a good team, no panic buys, no doing a QPR (or worse, a Portsmouth).
