Was gonna put this in 'Cardiff city comedy classics continued..' but i think it deserves its own thread... http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/news/championship-footballer-sacked-punching-girl-face-130628519.html
I hate the no prison because he has a promising career. So if he was a good plumber or sparks, he would be on his way to park prison. Just sickens me the punishments handed out. Fair play to Cardiff could do all they could do in the circumstances and kick the thug out.
Actually I think this thread is quite sad and can see no reason for it at all. You couldn't really call it wumming material and as Bony has stated on another thread 'nice to see a club with a moral spine' I think it sends out a message that CCFC will not accept this sort of behaviour and personally I think a few other clubs could adopt this approach. Some of these so called football stars think they are above the law and need a reality check.
I agree Cardiff have done the right thing, unfortunately the courts have done little to change the players ego and im sure he will now feel more 'untouchable' as a professional footballer. If anything a person in the public eye should be treated more harshly than the general public as it sets an example. It seems if you're destined for fame and fortune you also recieve a 'Get out of jail free' card as you pass go. As for this being a WUM thread, its on our board. If you come on here then you are here to wind yourself up.... bra.
I've seen military personnel avoid prison because it would ruin their careers but it does seem odd that footballers are now in that category. Can't blame Cardiff FC who have acted swiftly and quite properly so putting it under the other thread would have been inappropriate.
Good on CCFC, not many will hold this players actions against them, most will praise them for showing him the door. The bad part is that there are many, many clubs who will wait a month for the incident to be erased from memory and then snap him up. The player will have learnt nothing, the victim will have not seen justice served and the judge will be allowed to continue giving lenient sentences. What a messed up country!
I think, rather than a WUM, this is a thread complimenting Cardiff. The judges have no clue with cases like this - his job has no relation to the crime or the punishment he would thoroughly deserve - it just goes to further fuel the idea that footballers are bullet-proof. I genuinely think that Cardiff did all they could do and puts down a marker for others in this situation. Well done.
I'm not saying that the judge was right here, though the one named is very experienced even though he's actually not a very nice guy who is rude to advocates and defendants alike. But the general public forget that judges have to sentence within guidelines laid down by the Government of the day. If they don't they get appealed. It's always within a judge's discretion to give someone a non-custodial sentence if he believes that justice is best served by doing so, but I have to say it's difficult to see how this guy avoided an immediate custodial sentence. I know one particular District Judge who would defnintely would have sent him down, without question. Lucky boy that he got Bodfan instead of Richard Williams. Not sure footballers are bullet proof though. Some have done jail time just like anyone else. What about the Welsh rapist recently? Joey Barton? The list goes on.
"Actually I think this thread is quite sad and can see no reason for it at all". Well done to Cardiff for dealing with this hateful thug. There's never any excuse to beat up women. Perhaps a couple of weeks in a prison where the inmates could show him the folly of his ways would be of more benefit than community service. Come on now Sussex, you wouldn't be so uptight if this guy had been a Swansea player, and one of your peers posted a similar thread on your Board.
Vetch, I'm not uptight lol but if you read the op, mr nugget was comparing it to the comedy thread so quite obviously in my eyes a wum attempt that has backfired because of all the replies on here congratulating Cardiff, as to if the situation was reversed then I'd like to think that my response would reflect the fair minded views here. In my mind anyone who uses violence deserves a custodial sentence especially so for hitting a female.
if it was a wind up i would have gone Championship>CardiffCity and put it there. It wasnt for your eyes.
sussex is right on the button,if it wasnt meant as a dig>>>>why did you state the cardiff comedy classics......doesnt that title of the thread tell you this story isnt funny and cardiff come out of it in a good light................u thought it was such a a great story it needed its own thread ...............well done 2 u
Have a look at the replies from all the swansea fans. They are all positive in relation to Cardiff. Whether this was put up here for the right or wrong reasons only the poster knows. But one and all on here have backed and quite rightly what your club has done and long may that continue.
I was originally going to post it in 'Cardiff Comedy Classics' as my initial thought was 'another Cardiff player slapping women about'. But in light of the outcome i decided it may require its own thread. It wasnt meant to wind up Cardiff fans, as i have stated if that had been my goal i would have posted it in the championship forum. If Cardiff fans dont come on our boards looking for trouble... they wont find it.
It does deserve its own thread as things like this need to be highlighted, not because he is a cardiff player but because he is a scum bag ! how hard is this dude to knock out a woman(though some of the rough looking birds in Cardiff are probably harder than him) its not quite a comedy classic for me but respect for highlighting the low life people that walk this fair planet! credit to cardiff for kicking him out though the synic in me says that the player was probably **** anyway, if it was bellers then they would never boot him out..as his past has proved
Its old news....He deserves jail and its a good opportunity to get a **** player off the books. I dont blame cardiff one bit...
