Fans are customers by another name. It's not an insult and, even if it was, they have no quote where Cortese uses the term. Towards the end they do make the point that we would put up with a lot of niggles to be in the PL. Too right.
I imagine that NC would be shrewd enough to recognise while wages go up when you get promoted, they also need to go down when you get relegated !! This was the undoing of many teams, there was no stepped element to the players contracts.
