Sufficiently to virtually assure Prem survival this season - and that is worth considerably more than Wolfy or Hooper's wages will cost
Bit harsh to compare Becchio to Morison on international experience, Becchio is competing with Tevez, Messi, Higuain and Aguero to name but four, Morison is competing with nobody. Sky Sports News reckon we've put a fourth bid in for Hooper, and that we're close to agreeing a deal for Curtis Davies, could be an exciting transfer deadline day for us for once.
I thought he was transfer listed by request, and Argentina is a lot more difficult to play for than Wales. Messi, Tevez, Higuain, Aguero, Lavezzi up front versus Morison, Robson-Kanu, Sam Vokes and Craig Davies.
Pinkun reported on twitter that we have got some money from Leeds for Morison as well as Becchio, if true McNally is a genius
Maybe we should ask for Benteke in exchange for Jacko we could even chuck in Barnett as they are reportedly after a CB!
Not sure I completely agree. Even if no more business occurs, we've got rid of a striker who was out of form, and still slightly injured, and brought someone in who's in excellent form and fully fit. Becchio is able to give Holt competition now, not in however many weeks it would take for Moro to get back in form. That immediate competition could make quite a difference. I still don't really see it as much of a risk. Say we sign Wolfie for £12m and £30k/week wages, which is bring generous to both the player and Sporting. In the summer, if we survive then strikers won't be a priority, so any money we have will go further on other positions, because we know strikers are always more expensive. If we go down, we make sure we have a relegation clause in his contract where he gets an immediate wage cut, with a release clause for near what we paid. His stock won't drop that much in that time (take a look at Ashton) so someone will come in for him. If Wolfie signs, then really I think we'll probably look at LB and DM in the summer, and that'll be it.
Not sure how true this is (I'll do some digging) but apparently the Leeds website suggests that they owe us money in the future as part of the deal... Edit: Doesn't look true, all I can find is us giving them an undisclosed fee.
The barometer for if we are making a move will be if Jackson speculation heats up. I think we'll have to move him on to get a striker in. Dream would be Davies plus "x mega-striker" (hooper etc)
I think we may have left it too late to get wolfie in now...seems like their would be alot of paper work to be done and not much time to do it
Loved the bloke on canary call last night that moaned that we shouldn't be spending so much on hooper then suggested Tom ince as an alternative Yeah, he'd be well cheap.

Desperate times I guess. Also, Dani Pacheco is going on loan to the Spanish second division. Surely he's too good for that level?
