I'm really pleased he had a good game. He really has not been that bad, no he is not as good as Ruddy but he is pretty decent. Couple of very good saves today now hopefully he and the team will build on this performance. All round much better
His savve in the first half where he saved point blank and turned the ball away from the onrushing Spurs players was first class. There was nothing he could have done about the goal. Could this be a cse of history repeating itself with all those who doubted Ruddy when he first came here????
I'm really please forthe guy. As I put on previous posts, I don't think he has been anymore responsible for our bad results than any other player and certainly less than others. And if those outfield players did their job better, then he wouldn't be under so much pressure.
He also appeared to be a bit more vocal and bossed his area much better! Obvious signs of training ground work from Dave Watson!
I thought he was unfortunate to give away the penalty, shocking back pass from Garrido, when Taraabt realised he wasn't going to get the ball in time, he looked for contact with Bunn and went to ground!
I put up my hands and admit I wasn't sure about him, but the last 2 games he has been great. I'm pleased for him.
I've criticised him quite a lot, so I have to put my hands up today and say it was a very good performance. And the penalty wasn't his fault, Garrido was to blame.
That penalty save was as good as they get. It wasn't tapped down the middle and Bunn was at full stretch. In fact both keepers deserved MOTM before Townsend.
Hi bors, I questioned after the Liverpool result if he was up to PL standard, well the last two games he has put that question to rest. Kept us in both Spurs and QPR games with some brilliant saves. What I particularly liked was his reaction after his penalty save. A colleague tried to congratulate him and he told him to be about his defensive duties, not looking for a pat on the back for doing his job. That is 100% concentration. Telling his team mate to maintain vigilance. Nice to see Holty also performing as a defender on the goal-line, shows how much he leads by performance. With the effort the team is putting into their game, I feel a lot happier now about our survival in the PL.
He had an excellent game, everytime QPR had a set piece it went in slow motion I was always expecting it to end up on Samba's head but out of nowhere Bunn would appear and snatch it out the air. Thought Bunn, Bassong & Turner were excellent on their set pieces they had technically three centre backs on the pitch, Zamora isn't exactly a short arses and Mackie although his not tall he can mix it up strength wise .
