Someone cheer me up please. Despite the excitement of new players, £20m being spent etc, the Reading and Soton results are making me feel gloomy this morning. Reading drawing was gutting and SAF says Soton best team he has seen at Man U this season so far. I can't see 3 teams worse than us and Villa at present. Sorry to be gloomy. I guess a win on Saturday will do the trick but boy oh boy this is going to be tight if we have any chance at all.
Let´s put this into perspective RTID, our destiny lies in our own hands, the forthcoming fixtures are winnable and yes they were winnable the first time round but I know I would rather have Harry at the helm than that other guy. The signings, if they should all come off will make a huge difference to our style of play because with the options available we can attack using different methods, a few on here have questioned the signing of Rodney, well first and foremost if and when he puts that hooped shirt on he will feel 8 foot tall, a vast difference to those that have recently worn the jersey, Taarabt, Remy and Crouch is mouth-watering, skill, pace and hold play and Crouch generally being a nuisance. Reading and especially Southampton have good team spirit but no-one special, we have special ones and the team spirit is returning. Huge game on Saturday, watch out for Samba bullying that tub of lard all game. Chin-up RTID Susan Boyle hasn´t even woke up yet
Mouth watering prospect! I do so hope you are right. We really need to win on Saturday for all sorts of reasons.
The thing that continues to irk me, as it did last season as well, is the fact that the Rs have failed to 'win friends' during their two seasons back in the Prem. I'm sure many will say that this doesn't matter and maybe they're right. But we saw Blackpool a few years ago win friends for their attacking football, the odd great result and the entertainment that they brought, despite subsequently being relegated. Last season, despite promotion as the champs of the Champ., it was Swansea and Norwich that earned the plaudits, the former for their Chuckle Brothers football and the latter for their ne'er say die performances. This year, the Saints are getting compliments, Reading are being noticed for their fighting spirit in the dying embers of games, and the Hammers haven't been in trouble all season. Swansea have got better and Norwich look comfortable in this league. QPR remain the club in turmoil. Different managers, signs of a desperate owner repeatingly flashing the cash in the hope of survival. Very few compliments from the pundits save for the odd begrudging recognition of new defensive prowess. T'was a time many years ago when QPR was broadly liked by the neutral. People generally had a little affection for that small club nestled in Shepherds Bush. It doesn't feel like it these days. At least not to me. My hope is that Harry will bring about Prem. survival this season and bring about a rennaissance in our fortunes next year. Creativity, pace, guile and entertainment. Don't get me wrong, performances and results of late have been enjoyable and given me pleasure, but I yearn for the day that the Rs dominate a match again, win convincingly and deservedly. And Jug Ears, Dreary, Scarface and Geordie on MOTD are lauding them as a benchmark for other teams. Bring it on.
Totally agree. Villa are so low on confidence that they think they are down. Wigan Normally scrape out of it but it was the same year after year with Cov and finally they went. Reading despite their recent luck are really poor. The last 3 games they won/drew for 80mins were dire and they won't do that all season. They will return to their 'crapness'. Saints could go either way with the new bloke but i still think they will go. Plus there will be 2/3 other teams that will be brought it. So chill and trust in Arry
Saints ,reading, etc at some point will have a drop in form. They cant play FA cup finals every week!. Imagine is Saints had beaten Man u!!?
I worry about the potential signings of crouch and odemwinger, look at it this way crouch 4-5 million? he is 32 and past his peak he just scored his first goal in 18 games wtf, odemwinger 3- 4million? he hardly plays anymore and has maybe one good season left in him.combined waste of money around 9-10 million why cant we buy Darren Bent he is 28 and i know he is not in form but he isnt happy at villa and it wasn`t long ago he was a regular starter for england and a regular scorer he may cost around 10-12 million but i would much rather have him than crouch & winger.
We have no divine right to be anywhere As a fan base we have fallen into the trap as we have had a money and prospect transfusion ... We were blind to act and feel differently ... I harped on about it from the start. This is what happens and how the game has rapidly progressed in 5 years ... Good or bad it is what it is Focus on our club has been immense and put TF etc into the spotlight The hype about the club of course hasn't repeated itself on the pitch That factor seems to be overlooked Our position in London and this new fame will from now on always attract new buyers ... We are fashionable as a club and a project as most rich people want to build something they own Harold adds to all this but he knows his football that is clear It's now his call I myself never freak out over other results as you can't effect those games Anything can happen in football and the Saints are allowed to win as are Norwich etc I go into every game thinking we will get something from it You shouldn't let Monkey eat into you We have the maths still You can only finally conclude anything here when the maths is completed Anything else is guess work Would you rather guess good things or bad things : Dreams or Nightmares? **** happens but never allow that ruin your day then your days collect into happy memories Wigan Norwich Reading
Now if Harry could bring in Le Fondre today that would be Reading sorted! Villa could well go. Wigan are dangerous and the escape masters, but as Ellers says got to go eventually, and why not in 2013. Saints great run may not last. Norwich, Fulham, Newcastle and Sunderland could all disintegrate.
I like this post. If the teams nearest us at the moment rise due to good results they will overtake others who will then become the quarry. We are the hunters now whoever is in our sights.
Good post since that is objective improvement! Can't see Villa escaping and I hope Reading remain in the mix which means we just have to be better than Southampton and / or Wigan. I do think it is time Wigan went too.
Remember first half of last season a few man city players said we were the best team they had played? We went downhill after that. Saints lost and at some stage teams will learn to mark Le fondue at the death. That joke is getting old.
i think wigin will stay up they have made a living out of it. not sure who will go down reading villa and some else but not us.
Reading hafve to have lave minute heroics just to get a point, that cant continue. villa are awful and have been for about a year. Admittedly Saints did look good but that leaves 1 more and we have Wigan, Norwich ( ) and at least one club always drops from mid table like last year. Dont lose hope yet.
Don't be gloomy, mate ..............let Arry Houdini weave his magic. Deadline day is his day............... he owns it! There is no better wheeler & dealer going around that our Arry. Action aplenty!
