How far this lad has developed so far this season is astonishing. Covers every blade of grass but he has technique and vision to match. He's by no means the finished article, but if he keeps putting the same work in to improving his game like he already has done, he'll be a fantastic player. And chipping in with goals is always a massive boost, I like the balance between him, Lucas and Gerrard they really seem to compliment each other. Their's to many players who arrive at Liverpool and think they've made it and decline. Henderson deserves to put on that famous red jersey and I hope he carry's on improving.
Yeah good thread mate. I've given him stick but he's performing pretty consistantly now and scoring too which will do wonders for his confidence. He's a good athlete too and that really helps our midfield.
Can't and won't argue with any of that. I can see Hendo developing into the kind of leader on the oitch that we have needed for a long time,
Still don't think he's got what it takes for number 10 role. I would like to see him partner Gerrard and allow our new number 10 to play.
Yep agree. Got to keep supporting that kind of effort. Gut instinct says he'll be one we remember.... Well maybe not Dave; Hendo will have to progress real quick for that......
I don't think he'll be a brilliant player, but I think he fits well into this system and balances Lucas and Gerrard nicely. He's a player who just fits in well and provides what we miss from other players; high energy and stamina, constant pressure, box to box movement, a bit of physicallity and he can keep the ball also. Now he's starting to chip in with some goals. Hope he keeps on improving and keeping Allen out the team
The past few weeks/months he's really found his feet and he's relishing that central midfield role just a little higher then gerrard and lucas. I remember last season he was utilized on the right far too often and he never looked comfortable. I think what Brendan has added to players like Henderson is the hunger to win the ball back, you could see how he pressed the arsenal players hard trying to make them make a mistake. I think he still has a lot more developing to do as well, he is slowly doing a Lucas and becoming a good player and I'm hoping it continues
He's been excellent for a few weeks now (why the hell he didn't start against United I'll never know). The jury is still out but keep up the good work.
BR refused to play him in the first place. Its only because Allen has been strangely poor that BR has been forced to play him. I'd rather praise the lad to be honest.
Reminds me a lot of Hamann at times. I've said before I really like the lad when played in the right position. He has looked dross on the right of the pitch, stick him in the centre and he is great. He won't be one that we look back on and say we overpaid for.
He was brilliant tonight, best game for us that I can think of. As said he still has a lot to work on, but he's turning into a good all round midfielder. Great energy/persistence. If that lob had gone in.....
Henderson has got loads of energy and hustle, he was the same against Oldham but with the team/all round performance that day it counted for nothing. Showing his potential now and will improve even more. Also want to give props to Agger, immense tonight.
