When you going to introduce yourself Dave? By the way, did you mention heading the ball against mk? Were you in b block, aisle seat?

I was in G Block and my action happened at 80 mins and a bloke in front of me fell over trying to catch the ball I was standing to let him out
He fell over and I got my head to it
I am in Z6 sat with my youngest

I think we should get a not 606 box next year as a syndicate ?

You would have had to have shouted very loudly mate, I was at the other end of the ground! Still you couldn't have confused anyone more than I did that bloke in Stan's seat.....

However you are right, Brixton and I sat in there a few times last season. There is sufficient leg room (for me anyway, it doesn't worry Brixton!) and a pretty decent view. What did you think of it there?

Ive now sat there twice, last night and promotion day against Leeds. I quite like it actually. Compared to the lower loft, I seem to be able to read the game better, don't know why. The view of the ground is great from there too. I was in z6 last night - right on the ellerslie side, so I had a great view looking down the length of the ellerslie road stand. I love it when the crowd get involved all the way along the stand, rather than just R block, as was the case last night. Also, when the ref was getting some stick, you get a great view of people standing, throwing their arms - an impressive sight.

The downside is that it's largely full of visitors, so as much as I tried, I couldn't get em going!

    Really enjoyable evening.

Just read your article on Venables on your blog site Roller - outstanding.

I have never watched from the School End and to the best of my recollection the paddock in 41 years of following the Rs. And only twice from South Africa Road. Too late now - dogs, tricks, old etc etc.

Win, draw or lose. I've always found it a positive experience meeting up with my fellow not606ers. A few beers before and after the game makes you realise how similar we all are. We all have our idiosyncratic personal tales of following the Rs through the years and each one is unique. I've had the pleasure of meeting so many of you on here and some of you blessedly quite a few times. One of these people is roller. I've trodden the same path with roller quite a few times now, be it on the walk to the ground, a chat in the pub or during the actual game. He is great company, and often has a great anecdote or story that validates this. But what is quite incredible about the man is this, when your doing any of the above and you think you have his soul attention he is observing things all the time. His observational skills are exemplarary, I've seen it in his writing the things he notices that you ordinarily don't. Roller mentions things that happen but you knew he was talking to you or visa versa when it did. Amazing talent.

Anyway, it did make me smile when I read rollers op. How we miss him as a regular on here.

It was another great night at HQ that almost felt like a win. Meeting up with CORKeR and Ciarrai was a pleasure as always and had Norway been there I'm sure we would of won last nights game. Last year the four of us met up for the historic home win v Liverpool. Norway, get yourself back over soon lad.

Brix you must of been in the Connie when we were all there. We were sat by the door where we met at the Stoke game last season. I can't believe we didn't spot you.
sb73, I should of popped up to say hello at ht but I was too busy having my usual ht conflab with Judo and SussexR. A positive one by way of a change.

In all, it was another great evening at HQ and it was not just the performance or result that made it so.

    URssss

ps. Staines we'll meet up again soon my friend.

When I first started using MBs (about 6 months before BBC606 ended), I was reluctant to combine our private existences with our virtual ones. Just seemed better to keep it that way, especially since sociability ain't one of my stronger points.

However, have to say, those I've met up with to date (starting with Roller on the issue of the Goons) have shown I couldn't have been more wrong in my assumptions. Great guys to a man so far. Whilst we're all from different walks and to some extent generations, our mutual addiction to them hoops is THE great leveller. As with all of you, to have followed the Rs for yonks has provided that vital dimension of life that at the same time combines huge importance with something that really doesn't matter too much after all. I'd recommend the experience as the necessary contradiction within the human experience.

If that seems a bit deep or mad even, what does it matter? At least the internet's given us the chance to share it with the equally afflicted!!

Those words above these are great ones Brix. Not too deep at all. And anyone who is anyone that has made aquantices via our board I'm sure will testify to this. ( At least I'm yet to see evidence of anyone meeting anyone from here being thought of in anything but a positive tense. )

Cheers Ninesy. The only thing I'd add to my ramblings is that it's no coincidence that we all seem to gravitate around your good self - even though you rarely if ever actually organise meet ups. I know quite a few of us either side of the Irish and North Seas would bear me out on that as fact.

So for the benefit of those who have yet to meet up with fellow not606 Rs on match days, Nines is yer man. He's easy enough to pick out of the crowd too. Tallish guy, permanent smile in the eyes. Amiable and looks just like you'd imagine from his character on here. Knew who he was the minute I saw him. Believe me, you'll be richer for the Ninesy experience!

I have to admit that en route to my first encounter with fellow not606ers I was in some doubt that I was doing the right thing. But I need not of worried at all, brilliant guys and characters all. It's great to have a beer and chat with people that share the same passion for the men in hoops as I do. Or in short, we're all certifiable!

Norway wrote a very good description of being in this stand for Cisse's goal against Stoke last season, also commenting on the supporters along the main stands. Good luck finding it though!

I found it interesting to be almost on the receiving end of the abuse handed out by X block to the away supporters in the upper section.

We must have a beer one time Woody

I'm really proud of the piece on Venables mate so thanks for that. I published that on his 70th birthday at the beginning on January, and as you now know he is the reason I support QPR.

I've watched matches from the old Loft when it was terraced, both upper and lower Loft since the seats went in, stood in the Paddock, seats in both South Africa Road and Ellerslie Road, the Gulf Air box, the School end when it was terraced and the lower section of the School end since the seats went in. I think that just leaves the upper stand at the School end, and I can't see that happening!

Stan, I've bought that seat next to you for the Sunderland match, I'll see you then.
