Well, we know papers would rather peddle ****e that appeals to the masses rather than write anything genuinely insightful and thought- provoking. As for Balotelli, his legendary skills are apocryphal as far as I'm concerned. I've seen very little of him on the pitch that would make me take notice if it wasn't for the hype surrounding him. I won't miss him, he doesn't suit the English league and his personality and attitude don't sit well with our culture. He'll be better off somewhere where they like a clown first and a footballer second.
I don't rate him as a player. His ability and performances do not compensate for his antics and disruptive behaviour. Only one assist since he's been at Man City (admittedly it was the most important assist in the club's history!)
Good entertainment value for sure. But it sickens me how someone with his talent is just wasting it, their's people who would do anything to be in his position or have his talent and all he does is cock about. I hope he does live up to the hype, he had a decent enough heart he just needs to get his head right.
In his defence, I read that he's had a troubled childhood - put up for adoption when his brother and sister were still kept etc etc. I can imagine it hasn't helped him.
Who was the sane ref on the day that allowed the goal to stand, even though it was a clear breach of the rules?
