Ben gets forward as much and Neil does...And he gets more shots away as well, I don't remember Taylor attempting many. But maybe that's a style change, since Michael... Good dilemma, both good!
Taylor played at right back for team GB in the Olympics, so I sense some flexibility there and no reason why he couldn't play there if Rangel was out. Taylor, Davies, Rangel and Tiendalli gives us some real strength in depth at full backs that's for sure
Dai, got to agree with you 100% here. It'll be great to have 2 high quality players at left back. How many Premiership teams have that? May be possible to play both and push one of them forward if our wingers are out of form or injured.
I heard mention that, in time, Ben Davies could play centre back and I see what they mean... certainly the more defensive of the two. Either that or Taylor as left midfield?
"You know so many things,Vetch". I know aswan. That's what makes me the life and Seoul of the party. ...
I have no idea how this would turn out for the Swans next season, but this makes one hell of a problem for the Wales team. We have Davies and Taylor competing for the number one spot of left back, but either could potentially play in the left wing position. However, at international level that wing position is dominated by Gareth Bale, so while Wales lacks in some area's but is oversubscribed in others. Such a shame.
Laudrup has always says he likes players to be adaptable and able to play multiple positions and it looks like Davies at least is able to do that. I think Davies still has a lot to learn and his crossing of the ball isn't as good as Taylor. Neither is his positional play when defending but he certainly doesn't deserve to be dropped to the bench as soon as Taylor is fit. It's a great dilemma for the Manager.
Ben davies is young enough to master playing anywhere at the back and thats the way forward for him imo. I class him as a defender and not a one position player....
