Considering he didn't want to sign for us from Rovverham cos he wanted to move south I wouldn't read too much into it. Unless he's decided it's ****e and wants to move back oop north...
I don't think Reading would sell any way with the position that they are in and the impact that Le Fondre is having off the bench at the moment. According to the Daily Telegraph we've (along with Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace) had a bid for George Boyd turned down, so it appears that we are making moves but nothing is coming off at the moment.
Jeez, we are getting desperate for news, that's from football-rumours.com. He's played 23 games for Reading this season, scoring ten goals, we'd be lucky to get him for £7.5m, never mind £2.5m and he's not for sale anyway.
I think for the next few days anytime a striker becomes, or is rumoured to become, available there will be a rumour that Hull City are interested in him - until we actually sign 1 or 2 (what is the current thinking?). I really hope we sign 1 day otherwise we will have yet more threads with yet more strikers' names
I think we may have missed a trick with Nick Blackman, Palace agreed £1.2m for him, but he didn't want to move there, now Reading have come in for him.
Isn't Reading still South? it was last time I checked? See if it was just delay tactics or genuine...
As Reading are signing lots of Strikers Akpan, Blackman (maybe) would this free up one of their surplus? Hunt/Roberts?
Maybe his agent got wind of a bid from Reading and that's why he turned Palace down, but if he does want to stay round here, then we might have a chance.
For all the panic merchants even if City sign nobody by friday then the emergency loan window opens on the 8th feb. Until the PL clubs have done there business then the FL clubs shall have to wait for some deals to go through.
And to those who keep putting it off till tomorrow you might notice that all the best players will be signed by then by teams that do their business promptly.
So what. ?? Other than Chris Wood we have not missed out on anyone of quality YET. Steve Bruce has always said that he will only bring in better players than what we have got at the club. So far he is good to his word.
