Would be a good move for our 6 toed neighbours....

Middlesbrough boss Tony Mowbray has revealed that the club have been in discussions over a potential move for Kieron Dyer.

Dyer is a free agent, having left Premier League side QPR earlier this month, and the former England wideman has struggled with injuries throughout his career.
The 34-year-old has represented England 33 times, being included in the 2002 World Cup and Euro 2004 squads, but hasn't appeared for the national side since 2007.
Mowbray has said that talks between Boro and Dyer's advisors have taken place and the manager is hopeful of securing a deal, revealing: "If those conversations go the way I'd like to go then hopefully we'll have something to tell you."
Jonathan Woodgate was brought to the Riverside in the summer by Mowbray despite having injury problems in the past, but the 33-year-old has gone on to make 17 starts for Boro so far this season.
The Boro boss added: "A fit Kieron Dyer if we can get him on the pitch playing, similar to Jonathan, is a top quality footballer who has played for some top sides during his career."
Mowbray played with Dyer at Ipswich Town, when Dyer made his senior debut in 1996. They were together for three years before a £6.5million move to Newcastle in 1999, where he made 190 appearances in an eight-year spell at St James' Park.

I hope Dyer gets a decent spell in before he retires.

    Good luck to him.

He went up in my estimation when he acknowledged his disgraceful behaviour whilst here and his attitude towards the great Sir Bob when he wouldn't play on the wing.

Could have been one of the newcastle greats. A tragedy that he never fulfilled his potential whilst here. Is still one of my favourite players

That goal against Everton is still one of my top few goals I've seen from a Newcastle player, prefer it to Ben Arfa's from last season.

Had so much potential, just never fully lived up to it.

His pace was absolutely electric, fastest player in the league at the time when he wasn't injured. His passing and all round play when he played in the middle was brilliant at times. Could have been one of the best players we'd ever had if he's applied himself better/ didn't have god awful luck.

Prefer to say he was lazy, selfish and arrogant at times. Had a good game in him if he'd applied himself and given 100% to the cause.

Problem was he was rarely able to give 100%. He was always out injured.

I still vividly remember, how he disrespected Sir Bobby. Granted he was young, but I want him to forever regret what he did. He deserves to, as does Sir Bobby who didn't deserve that from him.

To make matters worse, he disrespected Sir Bobby on TV, and that's the worst part since I could see it despite living thousands of miles away.

But still, why are Boro trying to buy our discards..

    Woodgate, Dyer, what's next, Jenas?
