Does anyone remember the once infamous Manchester United grey strip...

    http://www.independent.co.uk/news/united-drop-grey-strip-after-black-day-1305058.html

So to pose a psychological question on our home form. Is the centenary home kit of the unfamiliar red causing us a problem?

Laugh as some may but sitting in the Medway Stand today, watching our opponents York City playing in blue, it did seem rather strange. I cannot say I have noticed this since the beginning of the season, maybe that is because we have not faced an opposing side with such a strip but it did feel odd.

Maybe if Martin Allen wishes to add any psychological twist for our Northampton game and if we are allowed within the rules, opt for the away blue strip, as we have done so well away from home this season.

I was thinking about that the other week, we played well at home when were in Blue but now we play in Blue away we do well and now we have a different strip at home we aren't good at all, maybe a link you never know well at least that would answer the problems.

I've noticed when I have a Steak pie we win but when I have a Meat and potato pie we lose.

The reasons for our poor home form are many fold, but the choice of shirt colours isn't a factor. These players are professionals and they have played for numerous teams wearing a literal rainbow of colours in the past, so the colour of the shirts should not have an impact. The Man Utd comparison is a false one, the "issue" with the grey shirt was that the players couldn't see each other, not the lack of "Man Utd-ness" of the colours.

However the colours may be having an affect on the fans, too many times this season the Priestfield faithful have sat on their hands and waited to be entertained rather than encourage the team to play to their best ability. Maybe, as you say brb, it is difficult for fans to relate to the red shirts and are therefore subdued. Lets be honest though a loud, vocal home support isn't essential, look at how many throphies Arsenal won whilst playing in the Library, but is certainly helps

You lads are getting to know me too well! I was just thinking Lenny, you may have a point, when was the last time I had a steak pie.

Although in all seriousness to get us back to winning home ways and fortress Priestfield, sometimes you have to try the craziest of psychological things, after all he does claim to be Mad Dog or is he just another Stimmo. < joking >
