http://www.newsnow.co.uk/A/626218510?-276:790 Just spotted this on the Newsnow website, I know it's old hat but nice to see were still in the news
If you like stats this is for you. http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/10189867.On_course_for_a_scoring_record/
I wonder if Baz will turn up at the hearing? He does have a bit of a no show record. Will the FL even want to hear from him? Probably tell them that the forms they should have had were locked in the safe and he couldn't get in there because of a plot against him.
An article from a couple of days ago that I hadn't spotted before. http://www.football-league.co.uk/fe...tar-joel-gets-hornets-buzzing_2293307_3044450
OFH--I mentioned the possibility of Bas not turning up at the FL hearing on the WO site--and wondered if it would help or hinder our cause if he did not turn up. If he failed to turn up, then Duxbury could put our case unhindered , perhaps to our advantage. But if he did turn up, would he come across as an unreliable witness or just a fool? In either case the FL might just say "a curse on both your houses" and sanction the club as well as Bas.
Roger, I did wonder if they would have him and Duxbury in the same room at the same time. I don't think we have ever received an insight as to how these cases proceed. It surely has to be in our favour the lack of transfer of the Red Lion because of missing money and the outstanding debts that the Russos are claiming. I cannot for the life of me imagine how Baz can put up a case on his own behalf. The real case may be just how much did employees know at the time. If it can be proved that they knew nothing of what was going on, or that they knew a little, but had little option but to carry out his orders, then it doesn't let us the club off, but the argument might be that once again the man was simply trying to line his own pockets. Hoping for a ban on him ever going near a club again, and a reprimand and fine for the club. The only similar cases resulted in fines, but no points deduction.
OFH-- These events must have a quasi-judicial format with evidence taken (under oath?) cross-examinations, witness statements etc. Do lawyers represent the parties? Will Bas in fact have legal counsel at the hearing? In one WO story his solicitors are quoted as saying "we do not represent him in this matter", suggesting they are distancing themselves from him. If he is bereft of legal counsel, what kind of impression will he make as he tells his story? Our best hope is that he makes a fool of himself, while Duxbury comes over as reasonable and professional, trying to undo the discovered blunders/misdemeanours of an incompetent/dishonest owner. (I am not suggesting dishonesty of course.)
I don't think we really know how these things are set up, but would have thought he needed help from someone. He has had a close relationship with lawyers from the day he first bought into the club, and I have wondered just how much they knew about these happenings and were they advising him. We still don't know the whole story, but they could be in trouble themselves.
GFZ certainly knows what are the right things to say. http://www.watfordfc.com/news/article/130129-zola-pre-bristol-625480.aspx
absolutely right. There's a large amount of 'cockiness' going on on twitter at the moment...and it's irritating!
Even if we are 3-0 up with 5 minutes to go, I suspect I'll still be a nervous wreck, thinking City could get back into it!
Last season I was saying this because of our situation today I am saying it because we can do this! 'Keep the Faith' We are in an incredible position this early on with our new owners, manager and new team, the future is bright the future is YELLOW
It is being reported in a number of places that Joel Ekstrand has been called up to play for Sweden. Anyone remember anyone else from Watford playing for them. Brain dead here, French lesson responsible.
