Mackie v's Odemwingie - Who is better for us?

After seeing the posts on Mackie supposedly going to Fulham or Norwich for about 3m

AND ........ then us supposedly upping the ante for Odemwingie from WBA for about 3.25m, what are we really achieving?
Is Odemwingie that good?
Will he show commitment to our cause or is he just chasing another pay cheque?

The way I see it, we would be losing a player who has a genuine desire to help our club compared to maybe picking up a loose cannon.
Your thoughts?

 

Oddmanwinkie is a better player, but will he give as much for the cause?

 

Apparently WBA rejected our second bid. They're worried if they sell, people will think they're not a big club.

 

unfortunately I now think Odemwinge will come.
It will be a long drawn out affair, and on Thursday, they got an unbelievable offer of say 3.5 m and they made a mint.

This is shadow boxing for the sake of their fans

Fair point Aussie. I'd keep Mackie under the circs.

 

Odemwingie is a more skilled player while Mackie will put more heart into every game, I'd like to keep Jamie. Is both not an option..

 

If we could be guaranteed that he would try, he would represent an improvement.

 

last time i saw Odemwingie play he booted a Fulham player and got sent off earlier in the season. Has looked poor since but did look decent when they first got him 2 years ago or so. Judging by all his disrespectful comments on twitter, he is not the sort of player I really want us to sign, certainly not at the expense of a fans' favorite in Mackie

 

Keep Mackie any day. He at least plays with some passion.
Be great to see Jamie getting further forward and taking some chances.

Don't rate Odemwingie that highly.

I'd be gutted if Jamie were to leave.
