You lot are like a broken record. He was once your messiah that brought you to the promised land, got your coined swanselona, and took you to heights you have never seen before. YOu can check, but I am pretty sure your record with Laudrup compared to Rodgers is not really too far off each other at this stage of the season. If you feel so agrieved with LFC, I suggest you go to the spurs board, find HIAG and his Mouser thread and just let it spew!!
Hopefully Coutinho goes through and we have more quality in the attacking third BUT, my lord what the **** has happend to our backline? we leak goals something brutal these days!!!
Some harsh comments on Borini. He is a clever player with really good movement. He does need to work on his technique but he's a fighter and I'm sure he will improve. Agree with Danilo. Whilst the players didn't do themselves any favours, the team selection led to little or no midfield. We played far too many attackers and we struggled to retain possession. Tactially poor/naive from Rodgers. This led to constant long balls and hoofing and we essentially played into Oldham's hands. We've seen it time and time again - our defenders are easily bullied in the air. I would have thought Coates would have been able to provide more of an aerial threat. We lack any physical presence throughout the team. EDIT: I've been calling for Gerrard's head for some time but last night he reminded me what he adds to the team - his maturity and composure has a calming effect on the rest of the team and we begin to play football.
Why is Borini being blamed? Apart from his woeful miss (and it was woeful), he could only do as well as the distribution he got. It wasn't his fault, nor the other strikers that most of our attacks started from a Jones or Coates hoof that bypassed the midfield. I cannot remember many possession attacks that were built up from the midfield yesterday. Borini isn't going to win much in the air, but he has a decent engine and work rate to at least try.
And that is the problem, when Borini played for us he was a striker... for you guys he is not being played in that position. It is because you have Suarez there. As a comparison, I am sure Leon Britton would look terrible for us if he played Attacking Midfielder.
We actually have Sturridge there. At the start of the season, Borini had a few run outs at CF but didn't look convincing (early days though). Suarez played there between FB getting injured and DS arriving. Agree with your point though
