Haha, someone asked us this same q on twitter. Nothing to do with his characteristics, just a family nickname (very close with his gramps growing up).
Interesting tweet, is this gonna happen or what? KingFut.com ‏@King_Fut Ahly's Gedo on potential Hull City move: "I wish the management of the club accept the offer, it's a chance of a lifetime for me." #HCAFC
However if we don't get one of our targets in soon we'll probably turn to this fella.................................. KingFut.com ‏@King_Fut Hitman for hire: Egypt striker Amr Zaki has terminated his contract with Turkish side Elaziğspor, after less than five months with the club.
update from twitter,,,someone asked, any news on gedo deal,,,,, still quiet on that front, expecting a final decision soon. Last few days have been very hectic in Egypt. (dont mean much but least they got a respond.
Will the State of Emergency that's come into force have any impact on business with Egypt this week? I know it's not directly effecting Cairo, but not sure if there will be a knock-on effect. Troubling scenes coming out of Egypt this weekend.
How do work permits work? Ie: Is there any chance of us pushing this through late and then finding that we've wasted our time because we couldn't get a work permit in time?
Don't know how permits work, but it never seems to affect any major clubs, they seem to be able to push through permits quickly. I think the registration of the player is the most important thing, then the permit can be sorted afterwards. Just going off memory from a few deadline day deals that have happened over the years, can't remember any names though.
http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/visas-immigration/working/tier5/creativeandsporting/ apparently should be easy TIER 5
he must be involved in a game "in some way" every 14 days for city, need 30 points on the certificate of sponsorship to get , basically means they have to say they wont claim benefits, The fee for a sponsorship action plan is £1,500
Being an Egyptian national team player you'd think he'd be easy to get a permit for, but Bruce mentioned the difficulty of getting a work permit for an Egyptian as a reason that we're miles off bringing one in so there must be some complication he's aware of. Regardless, I'm sure it won't happen.
