Your Thoughts on Alan Pardew so far...

  1. He's done a good job and looks like he's going to help us finish in the top 10. He was unlucky not to win the derby game with us, and he almost got us a win vs Spurs but our defense let us down last second.

He's been unlucky a bit with us, but is doing a cracking job. He seems to be the opposite of Hughton in terms of form within the team.

We used to be quite poor at home but good away from home under Hughton, but now we've been pretty solid at home, but really ****e away from home recently.

Next season will be Pardew's deciding season, but i'll give credit where credit is due. He's good a very good job.

Yeh, im in the same boat as LittleGeordie. Was annoyed when Hughton left, but i warmed to him. I'd like to see him given time to allow his plans to come into fruition.

Very pleased with Pardew. He came in on very unsavoury terms but quickly steadied the ship, did very well under the circumstances and has maintained a decent league position without Carroll proving the team as a whole has what it takes. Got Tiote tied to a 6 year deal as well. I'll be very interested to see how he does in the summer with signings.

IMO He potentially could be a top class manager. He's still only 49 and 5 years ago took West Ham from promotion to 4 minutes from the FA Cup. He's got a pretty decent managerial record and this genuinely could be the making of him now, much like how Redknapp's career has gone over the last 10 years Pardew has what it takes to follow suit. Hope so anyway.

    Never wanted rid of Hughton,

Both managers are ok, but Hughton for me, had more potential! It was his first ever top flight season (in only his second ever season as a manager) and he pulled off some amazing results and had us in a good position!

Pardew doesn't seem like he'll tear up the premiership or win a **** load of silverware, but at the minute its about consolidation and he's more than capable of that...

He will be judged on signings and a full season at the helm!

Pardew certainly talks a good game and his tactics seem sound enough - like others, i'm upset that Chris Hughton wasn't given more time considering the incredible job he did for Newcastle United. That said, we have to look forward and this summer will tell us a great deal about where this club is heading.

Pardew gives the impression that he has Ashleys ear as far as money is concerned but i'm far from convinced.

I dislike his London accent. Sorry, but I do... "Noocarsul" <doh>...

AP said in his first press conference with nufctv something along the lines of

"all the newcastle fans need to know, is that I am a football man and I will do everything I can to do a good job".

At the end of the day, with the all the other matters set aside (Hughton backlash, a friend of MA's) that comment is all that you can ask for from any manager, and I think it has shown to be true so far.

However, wether he will be a huge success is another matter, but he has done well so far!

Was really angry over what happened with Hughton but that wasn't Pardew's fault.

Have been quietly impressed with him. He has done more right than wrong and is I think generally better tactically than Hughton.

As some have said, how he deals with the summer transfer window will be important and after that we can judge him with "his" team.

My biggest criticism of him is that he seems to take too long to make substitutions when Plan A obviously isn't working. But Hughton was even worse for that.

I must be in the minority - I don't want him at the helm at all.
