The whole global appeal of premier league football means that we will catch fans from places we never thought possible a few years ago. I was thinking of our profile a few years back and where we are now,it really is staggering as to how much premier league football transforms things but i got to thinking that we could become an established team in this league and grow a massive overseas fan base ..because we have been unknown!!

The arrival of the first Welsh club in the premier league and a team that nobody really knew anything about gives all the new fans the idea of buying into us from the begining, there is no baggage with supporting us, we have had no previous experiences to taint new fans ,we are almost virgin white and a blank canvas of unlimited possibility with an attractive style of play fans and pro footballers rave about!

With the style of football we play and the profile Micheal Laudrup has we have reached out to the mainstream in Denmark and Spain, not just a little bit but massively! south korea is another area but i feel its the tag of being plucky underdogs playing the beautiful game that is catching attention and affection from elsewhere perhaps more than anything else.

The only time ive come across a team that were as well liked was holloways Blackpool but as he said himself that was a playing style nicked from us but we are the real deal in that respect and our foudations are not built on sand ! people enjoyed them though and liked seeing good product on the field !!

There is no celebrity culture to make us popular and there are no superstars, we are almost anti-premier league in the way we approach everything !! i seriously think this is starting to catch the attention of the common football supporter who is now starting to get a bit sick of players demanding 90k a week to score fewer goals than a Danny Graham or a Michu!!

Swansea city now possibly represents a way forward to all teams from premier to L2 , by doing what we have done it proves there is a way forward for every other league team if they get things right off the field and work hard! How refreshing is that for others to know they too could be where we are without spending £100m quid ??
I think Swansea city have endeared themselves to alot of neutral fans by being humble and progressive, we are also very popular when we embarress the big spending clubs on the field! its not just us fans that are saying it about us, the term "Barca lite" was met with alot of laughs at the time and i agree we arnt even close to a comparison with them really, but its the not how we play it that matters, its how we TRY and play it ! Thats what can give us alot of fans, they buy into what we are trying to do and they can see the odds are stacked well agaisnt us but it makes the affection grow a little bit more when we take a scalp of a big team like Chelsea !!

Our club is becoming very popular for what it stands for, not just what we try and do on the field. The under dog always gets support but people are now begining to move past that and into the thinking of us becoming a great team to follow not for the effort of trying to play the right way,not because the Jersey looks great but because we have a good chance of winning the game !!

We as a club talk the most common langauge around, that of playing football in the right way and right spirit (forget ballgate, that was a one off) its something that superstars of the game admit to as well. When the likes of Van Persie are gushing at the way you play the game and the likes of Cesc Fabregas take to twitter over in Barca to sing your praises you know there must be alot of others who think the same !!

My point here is that we have built something to be proud of,we dont know how long it will last but we know we did it the right way from top to bottom and will never be forgotton because of it !
But perhaps the most important thing to remember is that if Swansea city football club can go from the bottom to the top in 10yrs debt free and post a profit in the process then so can every other team!! the longer we prove the dounters wrong the better the chance of inspiring new fans to join us and for old clubs to change how they do things !that has to be good for football as we all now know that dreams do indeed become true !!

A bit of a ramble but sometimes its hard to realise where we are !! i feel very proud to be a Jack and its a wonderful feeling to be known for playing a style that everybody enjoys.

These are the best times <ok>

I hate to see an article with no comments <laugh> So I'm adding one.

Our model does indeed give the likes of Bristol Rovers some hope.

We are a case study in how to rise from staring into the abyss of disaster to playing stylish, progressive football as one of the top teams in the league and a team that football commentators the world over actually enjoy watching and get excited about the next game. And doing it with fiscal responsibility, year after year, after year, without having to risk selling out to the devil from overseas or the agent vultures hovering overhead.

As famous as Barca are for their football on the field, they are also very well respected for their business structure (a members only club), philosophy, fiscal health, so are we becoming legend for doing it in the British game where so many clubs have run foul of bankruptcy - even the mighty Rangers.

Its called a "post" not an "article" btw.

An article is something you read in a paper, magazine or professional football/News website.

So you're saying other PL teams should look up to Swansea and aspire to be them?

People are only just getting used to you being an average PL team. Most couldn't even name all you're starting 11.

You're all getting WAY ahead of yourselves.

Just concentrate on still being in this league in 5 years time when ML, Michu and Williams have moved to big clubs on massive money.

At the moment you're still just a small club from Wales who has massively overachieved to even be in our league.

Make sure you actually win something before you give it the BillyBigBollocks talk kids.

Can you explain a welsh club in our league? What exactly do you mean by that ? Do you go on to other forums saying that about other clubs or just the swans forum?

In regards to the article, I think he means we don't have to be a big club to achieve in this league, and we are winning friends globally who appreciate the style and ethos of our club.

As a small club we are doing alright and achieving things, I mean we are not a larger club perpetually failing like some I could mention. You know the ones I mean like who spends a fortune every season and still is a mid table club, sort of like the swans who are also a mid table team but without the huge spend.

In regards to players and managers, they come and go as we know, for example did you know that a team paid us £15m for one of our players last year? Or gave us £7m for our manager and staff, it was truly a good bit of business by our club. Because out of that we funded fully our transfer targets.

The fact you support Liverpool tells me everything about you, always the one that knows best, always the victim and always the biggest club eh ?? ..<laugh>

Im not sure if your Bitter because-

    1. We got Laudrup and as many of your fans pointed out, you only got Brenden
    2. Swansea are a popular team with neutrals, where as Liverpool are the butt of everybodies jokes
    3. We managed to sign all of our players in the daylight robbery we pulled off on the bank of Liverpool ,£15m and £7m ..cheers for that !
    4. Your not famous anymore and are now a rival..how the mighty have fallen

To be honest there is alot of you to be Jealous over, and it doesnt make a difference of how long we are in the prem league for its how we went about it that gained respect.
