My Best car was a Holden Torana GTR-XU1 with a top speed ofr around 145mp/h. What a great little car http://holden.itgo.com/gtrxu1.html
I am - saw him and his mum, Sophie, at a funeral last year. I also knew his dad - Jacky - who moved to Lancashire and may now be dead?
Ford Cortina Crusader , drove like a dream and felt quite classy for the day back in the late 80's .Used to be the highlight of my week driving it up and down the A1 most weekends from Catterick Garrison to Hull .
BMWs - I have never seen the appeal Agree with Audis we've had a few, currently got an A6 Avant and it is excellent. Best car I have ever had, probably my VW Polo 'Bread Van' rear seats down - hubba bubba - the very same car also rolled 3 times into a field in Everthorpe. D'oh.
I'm looking at trading in our A3 for an A6 Avant. Common sense tells me 2.0 TDI SE for fuel economy and comfort of ride. I'm trying to persuade her indoors to go for a 2.7 TDI Le mans quattro though. I want an automatic as well because I can 't be arsed to change gears anymore.
You want the RS6 avant. Practical estate that has in the region of 500bhp. Every car should have at least that many horses
I've loved all my cars but best has to be the one i drive at the mo and can't bring my self to change it. Its a Honda S2000 2ltr 2 seater rear wheel drive convertible red lines at 9000 and just so much fun to drive and and so reliable
I have the a6 avant Quattro 2.7L. We had 8 inch of snow last night and it got me home. I have just pulled the neighbours car out of a snow drift. It is a brilliant brilliant car. It has the power you will ever need and the ride is superb. With the Quattro system you can throw it about abit as well. Fuel economy on a motorway/a roads is 40+mpg and around town about 32. I have done 53k miles in 17 months and not a single thing has gone wrong. Easily the best car I have owned. K
How old is yours? I'm not made of money and my budget is around £17000 to £18000 so might have to shop around a bit.
Steady on Carmin, Im on my third BMW, and Ive never had any real problems, and the 523 that im driving now is pure luxury compared to most of the cars ive owned, though to be fair Ive owned some ****e over the years. I once owned a Citroen Dyane, now that was ****e ( but fun). And yes Mr Pepper is still down Queens Road, and no shame in been filled in by him OLM, he was indeed a rum lad.
I used to own an Audi A6, until it was nicked from the drive. (They broke into my house and located the keys). It was found in that crime free city they call .............. Liverpool.
I may have been a bit harsh on BMW's but I won't be buying another one in a hurry. When they're running well they are a nice car but this type of weather and they're bloody awful. You never say never but I think I'm buying Audi from now on.
I forgot to say that when I last saw him, he didn't look too good. He's got some strange (glandular?) malady - he's swelled in size and is, apparently, on quite a lot of medication for whatever ails him.
55 plate. Bought it for 9.5k cash. I buy a car every 2 years and allow about 6k cash plus trade in an choose a low mileage Audi. With your budget you will get something very decent
