My advice would be try a tech-forum, or one of those 'ask the experts' sites. We're just thick footy fans...

Need bit more info mate, are you using an hdmi cable or something else. Go into desktop properties and change to a duel screen monitor as well.

All depends what you are trying to do mate. I have my laptop connected up to my TV using an HDMI cable and the laptop should recognise it as an external projector. If you then press Windows key + P you will get options to extend, duplicate or have the display on one or the other screens. I'm assuming you have Windows 7 running on your laptop here.

If you'retrying to do any kind of file transfers via USB, I would hope that the laptop would be able to recognise the TV and install drivers automatically, but you may need to go to the LG website to download drivers to allow your laptop to view the TV as external storage.

If you're trying to get the TV to run the vid files off your machine then it could be that the file is not in a format the TV recognises. I'd generally suggest if you're keeping the vid on your laptop that you play it on there using Win Media Player or equivalent and just direct the output to the TV
