2.50 Kempton Peddlers Cross 11/10 A few doubts about this horse but I think McCain has absolutely done the right thing with him. I think the break since the Jewson might recover his best form. His 2nd to Sprinter Sacre hardly looks bad now and if we put a line through the Jewson, where he just was so obviously not right, leaves him with some perfectly fine performances. His record fresh is excellent and I think he has enough pace to see off Salden Licht and Sam Winner, especially the latter who will benefit from a step up in trip at some point. Hopefully Peddlers has a smooth comeback and can put himself in the frame for Cheltenham.
Going to oppose you there Toppy and put up Megastar at a juicy 6/1. He was a very decent bumper horse, finishing 5th to Cue Card at Cheltenham before winning the big Aintree Bumper, and he is fit and well having taken a Lingfield maiden from hotpot Harlestone Wood over 12 furlongs a couple of weeks ago. Also at Kempton I really like Ericht in the opener, City Press in the 3.25 and Drill Sergeant in the lucky last. Little e/w Lucky 15 for interest.
What is the point in running him in a jumpers bumper when they could have gone for the Cleeve? I don't understand it, unless they really see him being a CH horse, which I think is the much stronger race.
May I state that for me, I would rather bet on flat horses running in low grade handicaps, than jumps horses of varying fitness levels racing in flat stakes races. If I was the sort of person to look to cause outrage I would say that these jumpers bumpers are for the lunatic to bet on. I wouldn't say that though!
15:05 Lingfield - Catalinas Diamond e/w (After last Monday's (or thereabouts) mind-blowing success with a 4-1 winner, haven't done a ruddy thing since, but no surprises there . So, have plumped for a 'modest' e/w (Bostonbob, please note no 'lumped-on' this time) on selection at 20-1 BOG). Horse will no doubt charge late, hopefully not too late). GL today one and all if you have a wager. Oh, and well done Stick on yesterday's splended advice. Brilliant! ).
Could not agree more Nass we have already seen so many strong views from good judges on the 2.50 in particular...i wouldnt go as far a saying they were lunatics though ...and someone will be right....for the record i would favour Peddlers Cross if i had to engage...but i will not be tempted.
Kempton 4.55 Ranjaan was bought off the flat for 200,000 euros in 2011, out of the yard of Mikel Delzangles. Can be forgiven a disappointing effort in the Ladbroke, and can be seen to best effect over 2m round Kempton with no hurdles in the way. Trading at around 5.5 on BF.
Hello lads. Nothing for me today and my main punt of the weekend Pass The Hat has been scratched for Sunday. Not at all a fan of these "Bumpers for Jumpers" races...utter nonsense. I suppose every race has a winner so good luck those playing on them or anything else.
Fabulous tennis match, well played Andy Murray, thought his head would go down after he failed to serve out for the match at 2-1 and 6-5. Pasted Federer in the last set though. Well done on the bet Bob
I might be the loon taking stick on here but i fancy Speedyfix to do well here... little e/w at 8/1...
