Having a weekend away with the missus (who isn't necessarily a football fan) in Brighton to coincide with the City match in a couple of weeks. Every time I ve done Brighton in the past with me mates at three different venues, it's been straight drive there and back, but now I am an 'empty-nester', we've decided to have a couple of nights away to include the match with the missus. Darby & Joan so to speak. No insults please!!
Don't want the Grand or anything, in fact a decent B&B is prefered. Anyone got any good recommendations?

I would look at staying in Lewes. Parking up at a local hotel there and getting the train down to the Amex. Not exactly a weekend in Brighton but certainly worth thinking about.

We're in the process of booking us lot in and there seems plently of availability.

Jurys Inn next to the station doing good deals, plus plenty on the sea front, which I think we'll go for

    Have a look on booking.com

I stayed at The Queens once, I think it's named after it's clientèle and it was last decorated in 1986.

I stayed at the Thistle last time, horrible building, but it's all right inside(not cheap though).

I was going to go to Kemp Townhouse this trip, but they've only got one single room left.

The best reviews seem to be for the Bow Street Runner, £95(there's one room left).

I've booked a hotel for two nights just outside of Lewes using Tescos vouchers so its a free stay for me and the missus. If you use/save tescos vouchers have a look at the rewards site for details of the hotels. <ok>

Hotels in Brighton ? No chance. Try Eastbourne for those staying down.

Me ? ....... There and back same day. 11am leave Hull and back by mid-night for the FLS. Job done. <ok>

I suspect most people who want to go the Brighton for the weekend, will probably stay in Brighton, whatever their budget.

More than likely. But Eastbourne offers far more at cheaper prices. Each to there own budget i guess.

You could always try the travelodge Brighton's players & the Liverpool manager's son got nicked in.

Didn't think you could use tesco vouchers for a hotel if you are staying on a weekend?

Have a look at the Old Ship, Granville, Queens hotels - all reasonably priced handily placed on the sea front, but also central to the town.
Last year we started here and gradually walked up towards the station - good pubs, with plenty of City fans dotted around.
Just follow the hordes of fans into the station about an hour before KO and train straight to the ground
We had train tickets that got sent with our tickets but were never asked to show them there or back - similar story with mates that went by bus
Sinday morning clear the hangover with a walk on the prom..........sorted

When I went to West Brom I don't think anybody asked for train tickets between Birmingham and the train station near the ground. I think it's too much like hard work.
