For my part in hindsight the worse thing he did was walk in through the door at Loftus Road, but thats hindsight....20/20 vision.....I think most of us were well impressed when he was appointed.....Players have to take a large slice of the blame for the failure this season, i can not to this day understand how we could only muster 2 points away from home in a year, so there must have been some problem between management and players.

However he is history and our clubs history we show him as possible one of the worst managers we have ever had......just hope somehow we can get out of this mess and then re-group for next season......we really should be mid table with the talent available....

Were do I begin, well there was his transfer policy getting rid of certain players (Heidar Helguson & Tommy Smith) and bringing in the likes of Andy Johnson, Ji Sung Park, Granero, his tactics (oh now that I've brought him in I best play him and drop the players that performed last year), his statement saying that QPR would not find themselves in the same position again while he was manager, the fact that he was given the job in the first place speaks volumes, but has no doubt many have been saying his gall to hang around for so long and not being man enough to admit that he was and is a below average manager, (the money he has had during his managerial career, has not been used wisely).

What he (Hughes) meant by the statement "we wont be in the same position again next season" was we will be in deeper **** I'll get sacked and walk away with a nice tidy sum (result).

His biggest mistake was not to sign a top class CB (or two). We wouldn't have taken that big loss to Swansea and gone down the slippery slope from there with diminishing confidence.

To be fair, MH was inept, but the buck surely stopped with tony. I would have pulled the trigger after our home defeat to West Ham. I understand a bit of a case of " damned if you do & damned if you don't", but still it is such a fine line between staying up and going down, that the dithering and support from the board when it was patently obvious we were in trouble, might well have cost us. That's how tight it is. I do though sincerely hope we get out of it, but just as last season, it's surely going to the wire.

The worst thing.........Jesus.............the worst.............I'm thinking.......ok.......its been said I'm sure, but for me it was his ability to cover up his inadequacies with fine sounding words which on analysis were sheer bullshit, hollow, nonsense.

    Relieved I got that out.

I just hope the worst thing he did does not turn out to be to have set in place the combined elements that lead to our relegation and financial collapse. Time will tell.

Wow, I didn't realise I was starting such a fiesty debate.

But I can't believe some people defend MHs performance as a manager. You can of course say he was a decent bloke and did well at other clubs but what matters is how he performed at QPR.

Some of the worst football I'd seen at QPR came under his management. And this was WITH his wonderful signings. If you don't know how to get at least one win from these payers then something is wrong. I acknowledge that it must have been a difficult situation to manage all these new players but who's fault was that anyway?

Also, it's fine saying QPR sometimes played well under him but where are the results? A good manager knows how to get results, even if he can't get his team playing an attractive performance. Harry has gotten a lot more points in a few games and its because he knows how to do it. I think it's fair that some people say MH was clueless because clueless means not knowing what to do with the current situation. As we saw, with bad result after bad result, he didnt have any ideas about how to change things.

I actually stuck by him for a while because I want to support QPR but there was a point where I flipped because he was not coming up with the ideas, was not acknowledging the problem in his press conferences and was managing to let the team slide so badly. It felt terrible to have QPR in this condition, in contrast to how great it felt in our last Championship season.

I don't hate him but he was awful in this situation. Yes, he got some decent players. He also got some players that are not decent. Now, another manager is here getting better out of those very players MH brought in.

Lastly, I think I am detecting that someone believes fat people can't comment on football legitimately? Nice view, there.

Sorry DT, but the only games we played well in this season were the Chelsea and Spurs games, which gave us all the illusion that we were 'gelling' and it would come good. That is possibly the reason that MH got the benefit of the doubt from so many supporters for so long. There were periods in other games, such as Everton and Arsenal where we flattered to deceive but, in general, we have struggled to string three passes together, and, if we were in the Championship this season, we would be down with Bolton and Wolves nervously looking over our shoulders.

I think overall MH's worst legacy is a side that cannot retain possession, that is down to the personnel he has bought because we still have that problem under Harry, the difference now is the workrate and organisation of the team gives us a chance of nicking something...

But seriously...The worst thing he did was make that stupid statement at the end of last season. talk about tempting fate...!

I think i should have sent him an e-mail with my sig on it, maybe then he would have caught on.

Personally i didnt want him as our manager, but got behind him.
What i did like was the idea of him buying new better players to replace the ones we previously had. I was fully (and incorrectly) behind this. I didnt think Tarbs, Derry, SWP and a few noteable others would cut it this time around. I still dont think they are all good enough (another debate for another time)but they have turned out to be better than the new boys with only 2 exceptions........ Ceasar & Nelson.
I realise that this was a mistake & maybe a little tinkering with the championship team, rather than a complete make-over was the better way to go. He managed to destroy what ever team spirit we had and his only redeeming move was that he got rid of that Barton idiot.
I dont understand how a single man can make a this group of immensely talented players look so bad?!!

I also dont like him because he made me sit up at 2am week after week with hope of a result, only to be served up absolute dross garbage. i spent a fortune in pubs and bars on cabs etc to watch that ****e!.

Anyway...i supose in summary..the worst thing MH did for us...was to sign a contract as our manager!

Did you watch the west ham game? I was embarrassed to call myself a QPR fan after watching that with some friends here. West Ham didnt help but it was one of the worst games I have ever seen in the Premier League and we were woefully bad. Comical goals conceded, constant hoofs down the line which brought back memories of Damian Delaney, awful defending, nothing up front, no cohesion or the slightest bit of passion and then numb nuts Hughes standing with his arms crossed. It was league 2 football at best,

he could've said, '' we'll try and improve our league position next season and improve the squad'', i think most of your fans would've been ok with that.

Yes of course I watched it I have them all recorded as well how I very comment on a game I haven't seen?
I have said we got bossed and outmuscled Second half was different however I also watched this match with West Ham fans and they couldn't believe there luck it was not a masterpiece but it was a lot better than league bloody two and why Hughes can't fold his arms I know not
Yes we should of beaten teams like West Ham etc at home of course

Why did we all think that?

Because again my point is we all expected to with the squad the club had put together and the manager we had . A very few called it right re Hughes and for what that is worth great credit to them at guessing

For the rest of us over time we ALL on the major part thought we would start playing very soon. This is the core of the disappointment I felt at the time that the fan base I was used to and the tiny snapshot on here were beginning to become very fickle and even today I know I am absolutely right

I have watched like everyone our team get generated killed and then reborn again with waves of recent glory and then disappointment The last one of course being Hughes who it was clear attempted with the owners to buy a team and stabilize our premiership status ... It went wrong it didn't work and we have a bunch of fans now who are hungry for success all the time do much so they will hard it hard to ever be content . Hughes like SB rightly says is the just hate figure that just keeps giving ... I don't buy into that and never will and I recognize and praise the people who can see that
Remember this is a thread about collecting the worse things Hughes did
I am poster who thinks that this sort of stuff needs a reasonable answer

I will remember all this when the pack turns on Harry I said a long while back this QPR evolution will be something many won't be able to comprehend and again praise those who understand to enjoy the wave

Feel the water Feel the energy and simply ride the wave I see a lot of people on here back at the surf shack with broken boards and reef rash ranting at the owner saying this board don't work give me another one ... No the blue one , the red one ... Look I just want to surf
