I agree Beddy, fans are allowed to change their minds, but this was aimed st in particular those who were sarcastically cheering him every time he touched the ball V Arsenal, rather than those who posted on here criticizing.
Found Boruc being discussed on a MUFC forum - here is a run-down of what he has done: "Has been banned from playing for Poland after going on a booze fueled rampage and destroying a hotel room in the Ukraine. The Polish media following him back to Glasgow and he went and sat on a chair and just lit up a *** and started smoking causing further outrage... Here's a list I saw of stuff this mentalist has done in the last few years! Probably left out a lot! Playing for Legia Warsaw in Poland he demanded to take a penalty in a league fixture. Scored the penalty and went and celebrated by taking the corner flag and waving it around like a lunatic. Was booked for over celebrating. Caught on camera sticking the finger up to Croatian fans in one of his first appearances for the national team. Censored by UEFA. Booked in a pre-season friendly at Stamford Bridge for replacing the match ball with a size 3 ball thrown at hime from the crowd. Censored by Strathclyde Police for blessing himself in front of the Rangers fans and following this up by making hand gestures and grabbing his crotch. Made front page news for coming to the rescue of a pregnant Polish woman and her husband who were being attacked by two chav's in Glasgow. Took off his £3 grand watch and went hell for leather at the two chavs who both had doberman dogs! Refused to shake hands with Rangers players following an Old Firm defeat and unrepenantly told the press in Poland that he does not shake hands with people he doesn't like. After another Old Firm loss at Ibrox (Rangers stadium) he went into the Celtic crowd after the match and re-emerged holding a Champions flag and waved it at the irate home supporters. After Celtic beat Rangers at Celtic Park he took off his goalkeeper top to reveal a T-shirt with a picture of the late Polish pope John Paul II embezzled with the message - Gold Bless The Pope. Caught on YouTube in a Barcelona hotel after a Champions League match joining Celtic fans in chanting a song about himself which ends with a chant of "He (Boruc) says God Bless The Pope" Banned by the Polish FA from International matches for going on the tear and destroying a hotel room in the Ukraine."
Well, the last two matches have been the best consecutive games played by any of our keepers so far, so I'll not mind a bit of eccentricity. God its nice not to be talking about errors.
Except that it would take a lot more effort for Boruc to get sent off! Or annoy the manager for that matter!
I hope for all your sakes his mental days are truely behind him or your back having goalie issues. Most of that stuff is 3 to 4 years old and older. His off pitch life wasn't going great during most of it so you better hope he keeps his mental behaviour to scaring the opposition as his form suffers when everything in his personal life goes tits up but he seems to have got that sorted in recent years thus getting his career back on track
Sure do. Stopped England qualifying for the 1974 World Cup, almost single-handedly IIRC. I can see Artur is cut from the same cloth as him.
He was also a bit of a clown, still is, if you listen to his comments in Polish media (e.g his New Year's wish back a few years ago: "I'd like the Polish FA to be blown out the hell off this world"). Interestingly, Poland is playing England almost exactly on the 40th anniversary of Wembley'73, the last match of the Brazil 2014 qualification - the history may well repeat itself I disagree to comparisons with Balotelli. Balotelli does most of the stupid things ge does because he is...well, I think it'd be fair to say he's downright stupid Boruc isn't that way, he's smart, he just seems to love to play it on the edge. Sometimes this backfires on him but it also gives him the makings of a legendary player.
I was at wembley that night and as hunter said have never seen such a one sided game in my life if we had won 6-1 it wouldn't have been an unjust score line, also my other memory from that night was all the fans were singing Alf,s name after the game , when you think we had just failed to qualify for finals think that sums up how the game went, cant imagine fans today being that loyal to an English manager in similar position
