You do realise this is revenue and it's bollocks... Chelsea, Man City & Man Utd all have huge debts. This league is about money coming in only and includes "intrest free loans" from their owners & bank loans. Chelsea & Man City are up to their eyes in debt to their owners. the fact that we are 9th in european football with no champions league and no sizeable debt against our club is a real achievement. we all know that if it weren't for the money pumped in to Chelsea & Man City by their owners they'd be nowhere near this list. Quick note.... Where are PSG?
The Deloitte listing is about a skewed as the government unemployment figures! It really tells us nothing about the true health of any of the clubs. However JS does make a very good point when he refers to our position despite continued lack of CL football and income.
I understand that broadcasting revenues in La Liga are negotiated individually and that accounted for almost £120m each for Madrid and Barcelona. Remember the upset when Liverpool suggested the same thing happen in the PL!
Well yes it was only the international tv rights. Ayre thought that the top 4 clubs who are mainly watched abroad should get a bigger share like they do in Spain. I guess that domestically all clubs are watched equally but not too many people watching Bolton abroad (Ayre says!)
revenue is revenue.... look at apple... share prices slashed cos they missed their revenue targets. never mind cash on hand.... never mind gross margin or profit.... never mind debts... the whole world cares about revenue. The fact that LFC are doing ok is a good thing but if you target say bayern munich then we are 100mil behind them. stadium, cl football etc etc.. we can do a lot more on this revenue figure to grow and guess what... thats whats got FSG hooked.. not winning cups.

Just a thought. If Britain was to officially pull out of the EU, would it affect football finances in Britain? Would the foreign players be able to move to British clubs as freely as they can right now?
Good question. After the Bosman ruling FIFA's 3+2 rule (teams were allowed 3 foreign players and 2 'assimilated' players) was abolished. So if we came out of the EU, the freedom of movement between member states wouldn't apply but I'm not sure what FIFA has in place governing foreign transfers between countries not in the EU.
If we came out of the EU then it would depend upon the conditions of exit and agreements that the UK government had come to in respect of EU Imigration policy and working arrangements. However FIFA would have to make arrangements with the UK government.
Are you sure that FIFA would have to deal with the government? I thought the reason the Bosman ruling came about was because FIFA don't get involved with governments and their transfer rulings went against EU workers rules. Don't they act independently?
No, they negotiated a position with the Commission. There's absolutely no way that FIFA, EUFA etc could impose any rules upon a sovereign state.
