Hazard's going to be elevated to a Barton level pariah at this rate, rather than just being a poncy Belgian who picked you over us
Hazard kicked the ball boy for keeping the ball. Torres would've missed him, Cole would've shot him & Terry would have shagged his mother!
Much like with the Terry incident it's subjectified in that people will ultimately see what they want to see. I saw a ballboy clearly timewasting and in the heat of the moment a young, nieve and stupid Eden Hazard overreacted and tried to snatch the ball off him, when the boy fell to ground, Hazard tried to kick the ball as it was stuck by his midriff. Hazard quite clearly overreacted, the ballboy overreacted, the press have overreacted, the public have overreacted. Others will have seen an angry Hazard who in the heat of the moment meant to kick and injure the boy out of frustration. It all comes down to tribalism and what type of person you are, IMO. When all is said and done, Hazard acted unprofessionally and will be reprimanded but as hard as it might be to believe, nobody has died. Thankfully the boy was invited back into the Chelsea dressing room and has made piece and we can all move on. Hazard will be banned and miss crucial games for the club, the boy will most likely be compensated by the club and get a huge payoff when he sells his story to the Daily Mail next week.
+1 It also comes down to how you view the player. Terry is viewed as a bit of a ****, so he got shat on by all of us rival fans (and rightly so IMO). Hazard is a bit of a diver and an egomaniac (linking himself to every club in Europe got a bit annoying), but i haven't seen him do anything really ****ish, so he gets my backing.
Personally I think Hazard missed a trick. I'm sure his boot sponsors would have given him a bonus to supplement his upcoming fine, had he left a boot up that idiot's arse.
Actually I think if you look through the thread you are getting support from Arsenal & Spurs fans so your timing is off on this one DL.
It wasn't a dig at Arsenal and Spurs fans, Spurf. I've read your board and 9/10 are rational enough to realise the OTT reaction. The dig was more to do with the closed threads we've had of outrage at Hazard.
That's a very good post DL. I was on the wind up a little last night, although it is strange how these things tend to haunt your club. However, I think the wider point is that footballers, not all, but many, feel they can act exactly as they wish and never worry about the consequences. This is a result of them being paid squillions whilst having very low intelligence. They can't handle it. You could see from Hazzard's reaction immediately afterwards that he felt he was completely in the right and couldn't understand why people were questioning his actions. Time to move on.....although I'm sure the press won't!!
Swansea we are told have an excellent home record. Is this ballboy tactic helping in any way? If so it has now been exposed for all to see and something that will come under the microscope in future!
Agree but would also add it's about teenage gob ****es who think they can do what they like to. Pre-meditated time wasting by a 17 (yes 17) year old ball 'boy' is pretty indicative of youths today who think they are bullet proof and can do what they want. Real shame that it's this being talked about and not the amazing achievement for Swansea (and Bradford).
He was wrong to kick that kid but the lad was wrong to hold onto the ball and in all honesty I'd have kicked the little ****er. Perhaps Hazard just cared that his team was going out of the cup and was frustrated by the ball boys actions and therefore lost control. It happens and he'll be punished appropriately.
Oh, they'll revel in it. Many (not all) Chelsea fans seem to enjoy their club's toxic brand. Chelsea these days just seem to be a sort of Millwall-with-money.
I honestly thought the ball boy realised things were getting out of control and panicked. Yeah he could have given the ball back but once you're in that stituation, heat of the moment etc. your mind probably goes a bit awry. He was pretty stupid but soemtimes when things start escalating that quickly it happens. Hazard meant to get the ball - there's no way he was going to intentionally kick a kid in the ribs. Storm in a teacup, handled very well after wards by both clubs and hopefully someone will have a word with the ball boy and tell him to drop it once and for all including stories to the Mail etc. etc.
I think the disturbing thing here is that the ball boy was the son of a Swansea Director and was asked to be a ball boy specifically for this game having not been a ball boy for them all this season. Add his PRE match comments about time wasting and he gets **** all sympathy from me and Swansea dropped it because they know they were cheating and didn't want an investigation.

To be fair, if Hazard had played for certain other teams i'd gleefully be shouting for the death penalty
Definitely the ball not the boy.And the reaction of the Swansea keeper says it all. http://www.talksport.co.uk/radio/ri...cture-shows-eden-hazard-did-kick-ball-190004?
