After many years of being a season ticket holder, yesterday I cancelled it. It wasn't a rash decision. Like a lot of fans I was over the moon we got into Europe and looked forward to season. But to say I have been dissapointed doesn't really come close. NUFC is an obsession and has been since my first game in the 60's.

I have stuck with team through thick and thin and I will always support them but after Saturday I felt I couldn't give my well earned money to Ashley.
On Saturday for the first time I didnt want to go to game, my husband had to talk me into going. On the bus going we hardly spoke because I couldnt gee my self up. Coming home we didnt speak at all, he knew I coudln't talk about it ,see I'm obsessed.

Saturday we usually do two thing, Saturday movie and take out or night out with friends. Saturday was movie night but no take out.
My daughter txt me about game and I told her how I felt and she tried to cheer me up. She then txt me about Ranger's tweet which I found and replied to.
I did not abuse the young man it's not my style but I told him how I felt as a fan being let down by the players.

Over the last couple of day's I have thought it over and came to the decision to cancel seaon ticket. Family and friends coudlnt believe it but it's done.

We have new players coming in and hope we turn it round but I dont see a lot of our players with a fire in their belly for the fight against relegation, I hope they prove me wrong.

One of the most considered and moving posts I've ever seen LE.
You don't have to go to the games or even live in the region of country to have NUFC in your heart, that will never change.
It's down to Pardew and the boys to do their talking on the pitch now to hopefully woo you back over time.
One things for sure, you are certainly not alone.
I'm glad you were able to smoothly cancel the ticket too.

Sorry you've decided to give up your ticket LE, it's really difficult, especially when it's something you've done by choice and not because you've had to.
I've already said in another post, my brother is seriously considering giving up his ticket and getting a membership of a golf club instead, Mr LTF gave up his ticket a few years back after watching the poor performances of Shola and Owen, he couldn't face it anymore.

I'm going to stick with it for now, but it's a major factor that I really like my seat and the guys around me that I'll keep going, but it's not written in stone.

Surely there have been times before this where you've felt more dejected?! Personally, I don't think this is as bad as the dalglish, guillit, souness (despite having more points at this stage!) and most importantly, Kinnear reigns. This has been a tough season, but I'm happy to support the boys as I feel they're putting the effort in, unlike some of the other seasons. It has been a poor season, but also an extremely unlucky one. I hope you don't live to regret your decision.

I understand though, that this football club can feel like it dominates your life at times, making you happy when they're doing well, and down when they're losing. But I wouldn't have it any other way, it's why seasons like last year felt so great. It's never boring being a toon fan!

If i was a Newcastle fan id be holding onto your pass, you gonna see some great flair Football from these French Players, and I reckon your about to go on a fantastic voyage..

within months you will have a Top French Manager, and Europe will be around the Corner again

Hell I think ill even come up from Hull and watch a few games, Iv watched them all play in Ligue 1, but to see them all on the same field is worth my money

Really sorry about you feeling you had to give up your ST lady-eleanor, it must have been a hard decision to make. But then again we've all suffered having to watch terrible performances on the field and it's quite understandable, it's crossed my mind on more than one occasion lately. Paying good money to watch terrible football just isn't on.

I wonder how much longer Parpoo will be in a job if everybody acted the same way as you.

I often compare supporting my team (Sunderland in my case) with my marriage: that is it has it's ups, downs, highs and lows, but at the end of the day you realise that you love them to bits and wouldn't change them for the world..Like you, I started supporting my team in the 1960's, and in that time it has certainly been a roller coaster ride with some spectacular drops...I suppose the point I'm trying to make is that although you are feeling down at the moment, I'm confident that your undoubted passion for your team will soon be rekindled...Bloody football eh!

isn't there a season pass waiting list for Newcastle??, always though passes where like gold dust up there, as they get handed down through Families, never going back on the market

When Mr Ltf gave up his season ticket, there was an empty seat beside me for some time, it occasionally got used if we were playing any of the 'Better' teams, I decided to get it for my niece one Christmas, when the half season ticket was on offer.
When I went to the Box Office to purchase said ticket, I was told it was unavailable for the next two games as we were playing one of the 'Better' teams, there was no reduction in the price of the ticket, despite two games being unavailable, I decided not to bother, I can tell you the seat beside me was empty for several more games. Hmmmph!

A prime example of being penny wise and pound foolish. You'd think cash in the hand would be what they wanted instead of maybe having cash in the hand.

I'm not renewing my ticket next year at present, but only for financial reasons. This is the first season I've had one where going to games is a chore, but I'd still get one next season because it's better than the chore of watching at home. Containing my passion is impossible, and I'd end up throwing my possessions around if I couldn't sing rude words and gesticulate like the frustrated ape I am...

The football at the moment is dire and ineffective. Last season it was pretty dire but effective, mainly because Ba and Cisse would win matches from nothing. I doubt Pardew will ever make we want to go to a game in expectation of being entertained, but with the new signings we might get some of the effectiveness back.

Thanks for replies lads and lasses. I will alway's support the Toon but at the moment I'm very disheartned even with new signing's. My ticket is valid until end of season so I will be back with comment's good or bad.

I should think so too, why should we be the only ones to suffer.

Understand the fustration at the moment. Smashed my laptop watching the game vs Reading this weekend. Pretty sure the motherboard is broken and the screen is smashed, feel a bit silly now but helped relieved the stress at the time.

    BUT

I would literally kill a party of people to get my hands on a ST, spend all my money travelling up and down the country to watch it and smash a million more laptops watching the ****e we are currently serving up.

Hopefulll the boys prove you wrong and you feel as silly as me when we win the league next year ;)

Try not to get level 7 if you want the best atmosphere, it's ok up there but a bit quieter and quite far away from the pitch. Most other parts of the ground are great (though less noisy so far this season :-( ). Loads of good pubs nearby, the Strawberry is hard to get into, the Trent is rammed but you can squeeze in there.

I can't believe you haven't seen worse tripe than this served up in 40 years. We have had 3 relegations in that time, have you forgotten Frank Pingel?

Though I'll admit this season has felt grim, but I have optimism we will turn a corner once we have a full squad. Fingers crossed
